Pompano – Sunday – Feb 28th
RACE ONE EARLY DOUBLE- 2-2, 2-4, 2-6 PICK-5 – 2 w 2,4,6 w 2,5,7 w 1,7 w 2,3,4 2-STARLIGHT KID…was in a tough situation trying to join the fray in a 1:50.4 but dented quick backside panel. Dips a bit! 8-TERANADAWN…will be on the bullet train when gate opens. Initial quarter took something out of him in last. In easier. 4-SOUTHERN WINDS…gets some class relief here, drew well and can catch live cover to “make” the ticket. 11 for 47 life.
RACE TWO 6-BLUERIDGE DANCER…made sharp double bubble move 3/8s out in last & dented quick 3d panel. Can turn it on late. 4-ZAVAN…not much on paper these days but takes yet another dip in class and should be a lot tighter. Should be a price! 2-UNION MAN HANOVER…hadn’t drawn a good post in a month and now gets class relief to go along with it. Better spot.
RACE THREE 2-LITTLEBITACLASS…dips back down to the same level as Jan. 31 in which he was used hard early. Can do damage off pace. 7-ALL STEINAM…last time in this class, blew the sox off field with backside blitz. Follows cover this time around from here. 5-OFFICERNAGENTLEMAN…probably on the bullet train from the get-go to try wiring act. Recent form is extremely sharp.
RACE FOUR PENTAFECTA – 1,7 w 1,7 w 3,4,9 w 3,4,9 w ALL 7-LEGEND FIELD…has speed, no doubt about that. Just needs to mind manners to be prominent. Can rattle cages in lane. 1-ZORAZE…in exceptionally sharp form now. Likes to be in the thick of the fray so look for early speed & a quarter move. 9-BODY DOUBLE…post does hinder a bit, yes, but liked the backside move in last denting quick panel (his :28.2) Cover. 3-STEMILT TOUCH…steps up a bit after easy amateur win. Could be leaving and yielding to top pick after initial quarter. 4-CHOCOLATE XPLOSION…hasn’t won yet this semester but is very reliable for that :29 and a piece finale. Has manners.
RACE FIVE 4-SPAGHETTI EDDIE…been in very deep lately but still pacing noteworthy final panels. Gets some class relief here. The key! 2-ARDIE B SPEED…very sharp performance in last showing sizzling gate speed before yielding & then second move to win. 3-DANISHDUJOUR…doesn’t get much respect at windows but can turn on the afterburners in the lane. Can be prominent.
RACE SIX PICK-4 – ALL w 2,3 w 6 w 4 4-ARTHUR BLUE CHIP…lightly raced five year-old took a week off—but that shouldn’t bother him. Rugged and consistent. 1-DEDI’S DRAGON…jumped up in the air leaving in last. Prior, though, was very impressive & race back to that threatens. 5-SCOTT ROCKS…came to town ready to rock & roll. Very impressive backside blast before knockout punch in the stretch.
RACE SEVEN 2-FALL TOY…seems to be able to gulp a lot of air. Pulled turn two in last and continued to grind until the job was complete. 3-DABESTLEADEREVER…paced middle half in :55.1 in last wending way into contention before faltering. Dips somewhat! 6-GRANDE SEELSTER…been impressive in recent starts. Just needs to be in striking distance where his :28.2 does damage.
RACE EIGHT 6-SOUTHWIND AMAZON…took advantage of a very hot pace in last, swung four wide in the lane and wore ‘em down late. 7-FOUR SOCKS…been giving good account of himself in top class. Now back down a notch. Will seek to follow live cover. 8-LYONS JOHNNY…like last week, should be on the choo-choo early looking for spot mid-pack. Certainly fits the mold.
RACE NINE LATE DOUBLE- 4-1, 4-3 4-WINYARD HANOVER…got a dream journey from 2nd tier post in last, went first up during blazing panels. Compares well. 1-THEBESTOFJOEL…will be on the engine from the rail and prominent throughout mile. Warrior rarely throws in a clunker. 7-ENERGY SHAKES…been stepping up ladder but just too deep in last. Looking for quick pace to pick up pieces off cover.
RACE TEN SUPER HI-5- 1,3 w 1,3 w 2,5,6 w 2,5,6 w ALL 1-OH MY JOEPA…been hot property lately. Post & higher class hurt in last. Now, has rail & back down to where he won. 3-DANIEL SEMALU…stepping way up, yes, but cannot ignore last lifetime best mile. Pulled on backside & never stopped. 5-F TWENTY TWO…last nothing to shout about but did pace middle half in :55.4. Should have much easier journey here. 6-FEARLESS CHIP…probably on the engine when Hummer leaves. Dug in on off track late to prevail in last. Steps up again. 2-GOLDSTAR RAIDER…on a roll with four straight wins. Extremely hot property lately. A winner if miles goes in 1:53.1…
