Jugette Day selections by “Sulky Sam”
Dedicated in loving memory to the late Sam McKee, the best ambassador our sport has ever had.
Race 1
#2 Foolmegypsy—gets the circle based on earnings, 25% winning conditioner Cox, and her early foot. The 1, 4, and 6, all have enough credentials to list as strong contenders for the balance.
Race 2
#2 Nomo Volo—gets the 2nd time pill, has Gingras, whom is a big driver plus edge, and has also banked the most in earnings. Easy enough to see the rail filly, and the 3, with new papa, Wrenn Jr., in line for the bigger portions of this nearly $41k purse.
Race 3
#2 Buckeye Boss—has a 21% winning trainer in Beaver, a big edge in earnings, and a familiar steer in Merriman. The 1, and 5 carry the best resumes of this quintet of older diagonal gaiters to receive mention.
Race 4
#2 Supreme Lady—will be steered by the wily veteran, Irvine Jr. for conditioner Rosy Weaver. She is 8 of 9 ITM, with 5 wins and 3 places, and owns a slight earnings edge over this septet of 2 y/o filly trotters. The 1, and the 3, appear to be the likely ones to use underneath for exotic ideas.
Race 5
#5 SV Payton Place, and the #7 Stars An Stones—should make it a Beaver exacta here. Page and McCown steer respectively. Can’t split em, and won’t. Box’ em up in a healthy exacta wager.
Race 6
#3 Feel Invincible As, and the #4 Precious Diamond—look like another inseparable pair. The 3 is trained by 22% winning Lorentzon, and the 4 is yet another Beaver trainee, who also benefits from a positive pilot switch to Merriman. Box’em up in another healthy sized exacta.
Race 7
#6 Vegas Ticket—sees us calling for the 1st real price horse of any kind today. The freshman altered son of Manofmanymissions gets 1st time trotting hobbles, and pilot Page as well. We see the 2, 3, and 5 as logical candidates for minor spoils.
Race 8
#1 Jailhouse Sam, the #2 Rose Run Sydney, and the #3 Full Surge—are all 3 highly capable of gettinerdone. The deuce has the edge in earnings, and picks up Miller for conditioner Carter, who sports a 21% winning percentage. The rail animal with Sandy Beatty, has done nicely at Scioto this season, and the trey gets a nice driver upgrade to Tetrick for 23% winning Miles Wollam.
Race 9
#5 UB Cruisin—gets a nice pilot switch to Noble for an animal whom loves to leave the gate, and a 21% winning trainer in Walls. We’ll use the 4, getting a nice steering change to Miller, and the 6, goin out for the formidable combo of Beaver/Merriman, for exotic possibilities.
Race 10
#5 Abba Official—has new papa Wrenn Jr., whom shows us a winning effort with him 3 starts back. Opens at 5/1. The deuce with YG, the 4 with Nisonger, and the 6 with McCown, are all quite capable of getting it done as well.
Race 11
#4 Princessofpink—gets the circle here. Today’s driver Kurt Sugg shows us a win with her 3 starts back, and has the veteran trainer Marty Wollam in her corner. The 1, 2, 5, and the 2nd tier 9, should all be considered for action in your exotic selections.
Race 12
#1 Chasing Madi—has the rail, a UDR of .347 for reinsman McCown, and a 23% winning trainer in Brian Brown. She also owns a slight advantage in earnings as well. The 2, 3, and 4, all have decent credentials, and should be highly considered for exotic possibilities.
Race 13
#8 Two O B Wonkenobi—just captured the $275k final OSS at Scioto on 09/08, thus leaving him with a big earnings edge over his 7 rivals here. The 1, 3, 4, and 5, should comprise the balance of the animals capable of bringing home a share of the $53k purse.
Race 14
#4 Shock The Nation—gets a HUGE driver switch to YG. He’s only 1 of 19 in the win column in 2018, but we’re banking on his 2nd win here for veteran conditioner Steck. The 1, 3, and m/l fave 5 will get the call to share minor spoils.
Race 15
#6 Bella Glos—has undergone an under-ambitious schedule this year for 23% conditioner, Takter. She also has the services of YG in the bike, and should trot home a winner here. The 1, 4, 5, and 7, all look to have a chance of the upset, should our top pick falter along the way.
Race 16
#6 Only Take Cash—took down top prize in the $275k OSS final on 09/08. She’s 7 of 8 in the win column, and was 2nd the other time. Merriman steers as usual for 22% winning trainer, the wily veteran McIntosh. The 4, 5, 7, and 2nd tier 9, should take up the chase for minor spoils.
Race 17
#9 Sand Cash—is the 2nd tier selection here, goin out with pilot Page for the very busy conditioner Burke. If the rail horse with young Harrison Levan gets away good, would be a big plus. The 1, 2, 3, and 5, are all highly capable should the post be bothersome for our top pick.
Race 18
#4 Buckeyeonbroadway—gets the contested call here with prolific Delaware meet pilot Miller. He should really enjoy the upgrade. The 2, 5, 6, and 8, can produce evidence that they could just as well get the lion’s share for the $15k purse.
Race 19
#3 Youaremycandygirl—gets the call to take down the prize in this year’s $230,700 Jugette purse. She has the best pilot on the planet in Gingras, and opens as the 2nd m/l choice at 3-1. The 5, Alexa’s Power, has Tetrick, and has banked over $300k this year as well has the top choice. The delineation comes with their ability, or lack thereof to best Kissininthesand, whom is not present today. The 1, and 6 have a shot at 3rd, and the other four entrants are only pretenders.
Race 20
#6 Tinker Toy—will wrap up our day. She will get the steer from T squared. The 1, 3, 5, and 8, should be the ones in mind for exotic consideration.
Good luck to all and thank you for choosing IdaBet.com!
Afterward, get some rest. Tomorrow offers us a very nice card, with the 73rd Little Brown Jug on tap. Maybe not the most plentiful, but possibly the most talented in recent years.
