Little Brown Jug Day selections by “Sulky Sam”

Dedicated in loving memory to the late Sam McKee, the best ambassador our sport has ever had.

Race 1 card one

#1 Ambitious Lillian and #4 Vintage Gal—were separated by a scant nose Sunday for the win.  They had the same posts as today.  Perhaps Noble repays Merriman with a turnaround.  The 7 & 8, getting the Millers, Dave and Brett respectively, should be a part of your exotic plans.

Race 2

#4 Rockette Baby—opens as the 2nd choice, and gets a driver upgrade to Gingras.  The 1, 3, and 6, should be the ones to look for to fill the balance of the ticket.

Race 1 card two

#6 Cookies Empire—opens at 6/1 m/l, and could be our first today to produce a nice mutual.  Talented young Tyler Smith steers for 22% winning conditioner Carter.  With a nice semi-longshot on top, we’re using four with or underneath.  They would be the 1, 2, 4, and 5.

Race 2

Is just a 3 horse event, which doesn’t offer much of a possibility of making money.  For general purposes, we’ll list the rail animal, Air Force Hanover.

Race 3

#2 Hititoutofthepark—might have won Sunday if 47% winning pilot, Alesha Binkley, got the drive instead of Minore.  As was, the Yankee Glide ridgeling still only missed by a scant neck.  We see the 1, and 4, as the most logical to use with him.

Race 4

#1 Mcstunning—has early foot, the rail, and her usual partner, trainer/driver Kurt Sugg to help.  We’re using five animals underneath, the 2, 3, 5, 6, and 2nd tier 9.

Race 5

#1 Rockathon—gets a return engagement with Dave Miller, whom steered him in the $275k OSS final at Scioto on 09/08.  He was a decent 2nd, with 12-1 odds at post time.  We’re going for a cold exacta here using only the 5, Seeing Eye Single, with new papa Wrenn Jr. getting the call.

Race 6

#3 On The Rocksplease, and the #6 Ohio Vintage—look fairly much inseparable, so we’re gonna use them in a healthy sized exacta box, and move along.

Race 7

#2 Bounding Dragon—is one of three in here to compete in the $275k OSS final at Scioto on 09/08.  He finished 4th, well ahead of the other pair.  Noble steers again as he did that night for 28% winning conditioner Roth.  Let’s get the 1, 4, 5, and 6 underneath to make sure we have it.

Race 8

#2 Mystical Rock—is the 2-1 m/l favorite, and we’ll not dispute it.  Wrenn Jr. picks up the steer for trainer Schmucker.  Goin with the #5 Hanky L underneath, and think we need to locate the all button to complete the trifecta.

Race 9

#2 Big Booty Rudy—gets a HUGE pilot change to Dave Miller, and is likely the best with or without him.  We see the #1 Touch Of Dragon, and the #8 Petacular Rock, as the logical ones under.

Race 10

#6 Hill Street—gets the contested call in the $111k Old Oaken Bucket here with the Gingras/Takter combo providing support.  The 1, Spartan, and the 5, Im Your Captain, will both contend for a high spot on the ticket.

Race 11

#5 Rock Candy—shows us a nice runner-up finish in the $275k OSS final at Scioto on 09/08.  He has his usual partners, .378 UDR Wrenn Jr., and 23% winning conditioner Brown on his side.  The 1, 6, and 2nd tier 9 must be considered contenders to appear on the ticket as well.

Race 12

#6 Whatdawhat Ken Win—goes out for veteran trainer Belt, who sports a 33% win pct.  He also gets a nice pilot switch to Dave Miller.  The rail animal and the 4, with Noble and Trace Tetrick respectively, are ones we see as logical to use underneath.

Race 13

#1 Baron Remy—won the $275k OSS final on 09/08 at Scioto, with today’s combo of Page and Burke in support.  We see the 2, and 2nd tier 9, and 10, as the ones to share minor spoils.

Race 14

#4 Osterc—is 5 of 6 in the win column, and had a troubled trip in the other.  The freshman diagonal gaited son of Cantab Hall has the steer from Gingras, and 23% winning conditioner Takter on his team.  The 2, and 7, look like the ones to use for exotic wagering potential.

Race 15

#1 Lather Up—is freaky fast, and has banked 2/3rds of a million bucks in winning 10 of 12 trips to the gate this year.  He surely will take one of the 4 spots to the Little Brown Jug final.  We see the 3, Babes Dig Me, and the 4, Done Well, as taking 2 of the remaining 3 spots.  The final spot likely goes to the deuce, This Is The Plan.

Race 16

#4 Stay Hungry—has won both legs of the harness triple crown, the Cane at the Meadowlands, and the Messenger at Yonkers.  He can be the first since No Pan Intended did in 2003.  The task is tough, and the rail horse, Courtly Choice, has danced most of the dances for 3 y/o colts and geldings, and done well.  He is the 2-1 m/l choice.  The 3, and 5, looked poised to take the other 2 spots going forward to the final heat.

Race 17

#9 Smackitwithahammer—starts in the 2nd tier, but should be able to overcome it.  The freshman pacing altered son of McArdle has Wrenn Jr., and conditioner Brown, a 23% winner, to assist.  The 2, 3, and 8, appear as likely threats.

Race 18

#8 Dream Together—has a dreaded post draw, but has 26% winning trainer Blais, and .297 UDR, talented young pilot McClure to help.  The underneath spots look likely to go to the 1, 5, and 7.

Race 19

#2 Ask Me Ifi Care—would probably be a lead pipe cinch if trainer Micallef would put a decent catch-driver up.  As is, we’re gonna give him a go anyway if we can get the 9-2 m/l at post time, or close to it.  The 4, 6, and 2nd tier 10 will give him plenty of trouble.

Race 20

We are calling for Stay Hungry to give us our 1st Triple Crown winner since 2003.  Lather Up, and possibly a few more make it a monumental task.  Hope Doug McNair gets his 1st Jug win for conditioner Alagna, whom has sent enough head here to deserve it.

Good luck and thank you for choosing IdaBet.com as your place to wager.
