Yonkers Peek At Program-Tuesday, December 3rd

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

3RD RACE – (3) RIPROY continues to play catch-up, making just fourth try of season. Obviously had some issues but made useful strides as a bottom claimer.

5TH RACE – (4) LINKJACK HANOVER goes back in for tag after wiring a field of bottom-condition entities. Has poor win profile, could be asking too much.

6TH RACE – (1) PARTY BOY has had his moments, though generally from off the pace. Found bottom of ticket in last, imperative to push off gate somewhat.

7TH RACE – (3) TORRID BROMAC N is another prolific PA winner who’s now plying craft here. Has not worked for this price out of town, so demand value.

8TH RACE – (1) LETTUCERIPRITA A is not that different than sixth-race nod, starting from pole with a sketchy win resume. Taken to handle these if close.

9TH RACE – (2) MOHAWK WARRIOR goes second off class dip, sliding inside five places. Gang crying out for someone to be adult in room, perhaps him.

10TH RACE – (5) BATTLE MAGE is back for first visit since July, opposed lateral company. All of 2-for-34 locally, but hard-knockin’ lass into new barn here.

$2 +/- (thru Sat., Nov. 30) – 300 wins ($1,942.90) from 1,371 ($2,742) selex
(-$799.10, it’s taken us 11 months to figure this out)

highest-priced winner – BOINGANATOR ($43.80)
lowest-priced winners – RICH AND MISERABLE/
BROOKIE’S PRINCE N ($2.10 each, pathetic, low-hanging fruit)

Have a great day and thank you for choosing...

YONKERS’ TUESDAY PICK 5 FEATURES $3,900 CARRYOVER, 15G GUARANTEE

With Monday evening’s (Dec. 2nd) card a casualty of the weather, Yonkers Raceway’s Tuesday night (Dec. 3rd) Pick 5 wager now starts with a carryover of $3,942.61 and a $15,000 guaranteed pool.

The guarantee has been approved by the New York State Gaming Commission and is in conjunction with the U.S. Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program.

The Pick 5 is a 50-cent base wager comprising races 7 through 11 Tuesday night. It has no consolation payoff, meaning if no one selects all five winners (as was the case Saturday evening), the entire pool (minus takeout) moves to the next racing program.

Thank you for choosing IdaBet as your place to wager!

Northfield Track Announcer Ayers Ratliff’s free handicapping tips are provided for our IdaBet.com players.
Remember, due to their draw schedule, picks are made in advance and do not account for scratches or late driver changes.

MONDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 2

Race 1: 3- Cooper – Was a winner in his most recent effort and could have rounded back into form; looks to start the Daily Double. 6- Lets Go Bucks – Drops in class
and looks to have a big shot at this level of competition. 4- Star Buster – One of several in this race that could make the ticket. 1- Marty De Vie – Looks to be in the thick
of the action from the rail.

Race 2: 2- Red Hot Herbie – Looks to be successful to start the Pick 5 upon coming to Northfield. 4- Finish Line – Looks to have a solid shot in here; but must be
completely over the sickness he had the last time he was scheduled to compete. 1- United Bi – Looks to make the ticket from the rail.

Race 3: 2- Just Plain Luck – Has been racing well and that trend looks to continue from post-2. 8- Yankee Osborne – Looks to be tough in here if he minds his manners
despite starting from the far outside. 9- Mckinley – Should get a good trip and make the ticket from the second tier. 7- Dreamfair Mesa – Could add value to the exotics
despite the poor post draw.

Race 4: 7- Vague Traces – Was a beaten favorite last time out but could prevail for his backers this time around. 3- Delray Dude – Was a winner two starts back and looks
to be tough again tonight. 5- Kehmmywood – Finished third in both of his most recent races and could post a similar effort again tonight. 1- Stonebridge Tonic – Has as
good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 3- Headsaregonna Turn – Drops in class and could be successful at this level of competition. 5- Keystone Chester – Another class dropper that looks...

Dugout Earns Hard-Fought Win in Steel Valley Sprint

Dugout Earns Hard-Fought Win in Steel Valley Sprint

Nov 26, 2019

Richard Ravin, Patricia Hope LLC and Larry Rivelli’s Dugout ($21.80) scored the biggest win of his nine-race career on Monday when he caught the speedy Ohio-bred Dare Day in the stretch and held off an oncoming Manny Wah to take the $250,000 Steel Valley Sprint at Hollywood Casino at Mahoning Valley Racecourse. The six-furlong Steel Valley Sprint restricted to three-year-olds serves as the marquee race on Mahoning Valley’s racing calendar.

Trained by Larry Rivelli, the New York-bred by Adios Charlie has been accustomed to doing his best running on the front end but was beaten to the lead by Dare Day who cut out fractions of :21.53 for the opening quarter-mile and :44.56 before being collared by Dugout and jockey Jareth Loveberry at the eighth-pole.  After chasing Dare Day for five furlongs, Dugout then had to contend with the Wayne Catalano trained Manny Wah and jockey Channing Hill who made a late run to miss the top spot by a neck.

“He’s a real nice horse and we always thought he was this kind,” said Rivelli.  “He can run on the lead, he can come from off the pace and is just a real nice horse. One more jump and we might have gotten beat, but the rider rode him good and we got lucky.”

Longshot Olympic Village closed to nip Dare Day for third while multiple graded stakes winner Call Paul was sent off as the odds-on favorite under jockey Irad Ortiz but faded to fifth after pressing the pace.

Out of the Lit de Justice mare Rooney Doodle, Dugout was the first horse Rivelli and Ravin have bred in New York and they also now have a full brother to the Steel Valley Sprint champion foaled earlier this year in the Empire State.  The Steel Valley Sprint win capped an impressive six month run for Rooney Doodle as a broodmare as another full sibling to Dugout, Jean Elizabeth, captured the Ontario Fashion (G3) at Woodbine in October while her now five-year-old First Dude gelding,...
