Yonkers Peek At Program- Friday, March 15th

Some insights into tonight’s Ides of March racing program for our IdaBet players:

1ST RACE – (2) WE THINK ALIKE comes off his best effort in a while last out, chasing home runaway. Been disappointing more often than not, so let us see.

2ND RACE – (3) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR tries it first off claim going up the ladder. Well-placed to use early foot, surmise he’s useful if left to his own devices.

3RD RACE – (3) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE is another we’ve four-balled of late. Uncharted impediment two back, eight-ball in last, significant post relief here.

5TH RACE – (6) NEWBORN SASSY may not get the props of her Shartin N stablemate, but the lass has had her moments. Gaze in opener of B-C Matchmaker.

7TH RACE – (6) LAKEISHA HALL left into seat for well-supported season debut, then did not make second move and could not find room. Matchmaker nod.

8TH RACE – (6) SEASWIFT JOY N has been pristine in both local tries, off- then on-the-pace. We can’t fathom her not being factor as Matchmaker rolls along.

11TH RACE – (6) FASHION BYTHEBEACH continues this six-hole theme against what appears to be very suspect surroundings. Does need way in, however.

Thank you for choosing IdaBet.com and happy wagering!

DUBE INCHING IN, ANOTHER MILLION, BIG GIRLS, BIG BOYS BEGIN (note winner is No. 1)

DUBE INCHING IN, ANOTHER MILLION, BIG GIRLS, BIG BOYS BEGIN (note winner is No. 1)

Mar 15, 2019

Slowly but surely, Dan Dube is inching toward his latest milestone.

Favored An the Thunderolls ($5.30) was a Yonkers Raceway off-the-pace winner in Thursday night’s (March 14th) $10,000, thrd-race pace (1:56.3), giving Dube an 8,998th career driving victory.

The Quebec-born Dube, turning 50 this June, has career purses in excess of $119 million…not to mention a congratulatory sign waiting for him.

For the third consecutive night, the Raceway parachuted past the million-dollar handle plateau, as the dozen races attracted a total of $1,172,527. It was the fifth seven-figure program of the season.

A reminder that this Friday and Saturday evenings (March 15th and 16th) begin the Blue Chip Matchmaker (five divisions) and George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series (six divisions), respectively. The lasses go for $40,000 per race, while the lads chase $50,000 each.

The finalized program pages for those races accompany this release.

2019 Hambletonian Future Wager opens March 15

The 94th Hambletonian Future Wager at the Meadowlands will open its first pool Friday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. in conjunction with the final payments taken on trotters for the $1 million Hambletonian and $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks.

This will be the first of four pools opened in advance of the race to be held Saturday, August 3 at The Meadowlands, East Rutherford, NJ.

Wagering will be available at racetrack and online sites throughout North America and internationally and wagering for the first pool will close on Sunday, March 17 at 11:00 p.m. (EDT)

A team of harness racing analysts and handicappers led by Meadowlands announcer Ken Warkentin, whose Road to the Hambletonian annually tracks the leading candidates to the race, selected a group of 14 trotters out of the 199 colts, fillies and geldings that were made eligible to start in the Hambletonian after the final February 15 payment.

The wager will be discussed at length on The Meadowlands weekend simulcast show.

Though fillies have their own division in the $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks, several have started in the $1 million event for males in recent years, most recently Atlanta, who became just the 14th filly to win a Hambletonian.

The 14 horses assigned odds in the pool will be listed in alphabetical order. The mutuel field, #15, will consist of the remaining horses eligible, including all fillies eligible to the Oaks. There are no supplements permitted to the Hambletonian or Oaks.

The minimum future wager is $1.00 and all future wagers are win wagering only. The winner of each pool will be determined by the official first-place finisher in the 2019 Hambletonian.

The second future pool will open Friday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. through Sunday, June 2, closing at 11:00 p.m. The third future wager pool will open Friday, July 5 at 11:00...
