Accelerate and City of Light headline this year’s one-and-an-eighth-mile race in Hallandale, Florida. The $9 million purse is down from $16 million last year and $12 million in the inaugural Pegasus World Cup Invitational in 2017. But the race is still the richest in North America, and the purse is three times the size of the Kentucky Derby’s $3 million, which has been raised by $1 million for this year.
