She beat the gate, then beat her foes, both with the greatest of ease.
Caviart Cherie (Jordan Stratton, $20.20) offered an eight-hole tour de force Monday night (March 26th), winning Yonkers Raceway’s $62,000 final of the Petticoat Pacing Series.
There wasn’t much to the finale, which wrapped a four-week series for 3- and 4-year-old lasses who are/were non-winners of four races and/or $40,000 through last Dec. 1st. All finalists were 4-year-olds.
Caviart Cherie, one of four ladies who had won twice in the prelims, quickly negated the ill-effects of an open-draw impost.
Leaving with the speed of a runner, Caviart Cherie hurdled the field early in the first turn. While doing so, she looped 4-5 favorite Diamondtoothgertie (George Brennan), that one eventually finding a seat fourth.
Caviart Cherie threw it down, as a :26.4 opening quarter-mile and :55.2 intermission. Chasing from a loose pocket was Jk Jazzitup (Mark MacDonald), with Gotthisone Hanover (Yannick Gingras) away third.
Diamondtoothegertie moved from fourth, but never came within shouting distance of Caviart Cherie. After a 1:23.3 three-quarters, the lead was three lengths entering the lane.
The final margin was a length-and-a-half in a season’s-best 1:54. Second went to Jk Jazzitup, with Diamondtoothgertie salvaging the bottom of the ticket. Dali Delight (Dan Dube), coupled with Jk Jazzitup, and Absolutely Best (Jason Bartlett) settled for the minors.

Race 2: 2- SB On My Honor – Gets some major post improvement off a tough, but game effort last out. 3- Albionkinginfinito – Looks to be tough
at this level of competition. 4- Blue’s Rocket Man – Gets a good draw this week and is dropping down in class, one to watch out for.
8- Bergerac – Could add value from the outside.
Race 3: 5- Muscle On Broadway – Put in a monster effort last week from post 7, gets Stahl back tonight and could provide some value.
3- Hooray For Willie – Was forced to come from off the pace last week and just had too much ground to make up, expect better. 9- Full Of PrideGets
another good draw this week, should get a good trip from the second tier.
Race 4: 1- Panoramic View – Made an uncharacteristic break at MVR last week, gets a good draw and takes a big drop in class. 6- Divulge –
Another with a big shot in here. 2- Unix Hanover – Should get a much better effort tonight after a tough trip last week. 5- Lima Thunder – Has as
good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.
Race 5: 9- Were Gone – Has been plagued with some misfortune as of late, hoping for some racing luck tonight. 1- Catch The Bouquet – Has the
ability to be prominently placed on this ticket. 8- Hilarious Hero – Should get a good trip...

1ST RACE – (4) AMERICAN ALIVE threw out her best effort in quite some time. Sees not whole lot in opener, but 2-for-45 over past two seasons is what it is.

6TH RACE – (1) ENDEAVOR returns to town for first time since end of last season. Useful then, despite being ambitiously-placed more than once, pole ‘peek’.
7TH RACE – (5) POINTSOMEWHERELSE remains in good form, save for one series clunker. Tepid edge in very competitive finale of Sagamore Hill Series.
10TH RACE – (1) HIGVIEW CONALL N gets rare good draw, helpful since he’s another non-leaver. Can take air and may be first-up, nodded in vanilla finale.

Race 2: 2- Stevie Diamonds – Drops in class this week after riding the pocket a majority of the way last out, expect better. 7- Elrama N – Looks
to be tough at this level of competition, the question is can he handle the ½ at Northfield. 3- Big Bad Bossman – Another class dropper that is
looking to improve with a better post. 1- Pick Of The Day – Could add value from the inside.
Race 3: 7- Barn Girl – Has been racing extremely well as of late, expect more of the same tonight. 3- Outburst – Has a good amount of early
speed and can win the race if he wants it. 2- Fashion Chocolate – Another very consistent horse that is really starting to come back into form.
Race 4: 7- Turbo Mach – Is by far the speed of the race and if he gets to the top from the outside he will be tough. 3- Prairie Jaguar – Another
with a big shot in here. 2- Man He Can Skoot – Draws the inside again this week facing tougher company, if he brings his game he will be
tough. 4- Magic Manny – Has as good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.
