YONKERS POSTS SECOND MILLION-DOLLAR NIGHT OF SEASON
Four weeks to the night of Yonkers Raceway’s first million-dollar night of 2019, the Raceway sashayed over seven figures once again. Monday night’s (March 4th) dozen-race card sawtotal wagering of $1,001,439.
Catch an Ace (Jason Bartlett, $2.90) tagged Pelican Blue Chip (Dan Dube) in 1:55.2, the fastest of four, $20,000 divisions in the opening round of the Petticoat Pacing Series for 3- and 4-year-old young ladies. The winner, a 4-year-old daughter of Bettor’s Delight, is now 4-for-6 this season and 13-for-23 in her career.
The boys take their turn Tuesday night (March 5th), with four, $20,000 events of their own in the beginning of the Sagamore Hill Pacing Series.
