7TH RACE – (4) ROYAL KNOCKOUT is one we can’t help but nod making a 225th career start. Has had her share of chances at this level, thus act accordingly.
8TH RACE – (1) JUPITER JOHNNY did get four-eyeball in his last, hanging around for final envelope. Pole-sits with not much standing in way here, so repeat.

12TH RACE – (4) SOCK IT AWAY may not be the 20-for-21 scourge of the Maritimes, but returns to level that appears more than mundane. Viva PEI in finale.

Meydan Overview & Selections – Week 9:

A winning tip last week kept the show on the road and after all this game is all about winners, not also rans, and on a very tricky card this week I have four more selections for you.

There are only two more meetings left at Meydan before the World Cup meeting takes place at the end of March and the World Cup itself presents a very muddled picture at the moment. Last year’s winner Thunder Snow will give it more clarity when he runs on Super Saturday 10 days from now and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that this horse will become the first ever back-to-back winner. It is a massive ask and he may not be up to it but maybe…just maybe.

One thing is for sure, the Dubai World Cup will once again be one of the greatest races in the calendar and I for one cannot wait.

Here are my four selections for this week:

10:05am Meydan: Golden Jaguar

This unbeaten horse is another fine example of the talents of Ahmed Bin Harmash who has had a tremendous season in the UAE. Golden Jaguar is unbeaten in two starts and was particularly impressive last time out where he managed to win despite being green, slowly away and forced wide throughout. Race 1: 6- Native’s Best Bet – Was a beaten favorite last time out; could score this time around to start the Daily Double. 3- No Pets
– Was a winner in his most recent effort and looks to be tough again. 1- Ranger Alert – Should be a legitimate factor from the rail.
4- Super Macho Men – Looks to be in the thick of the action.

Race 2: 5- Craziville – Drops in class and looks to be the one that starts the Pick 5. 6- Iron – Should be fresh off a layoff and could
be tough at first asking. 1- Bookem – Should not be overlooked from the rail.

Race 3: 3- Prairiecreek Pride – Draws into a race where several could win; this one gets the slight call over several in here to get
the job done. 2- Majority Wins Two – Looks to be a tough contender if he minds his manners. 1- Southern Sage – Should make the
ticket from the rail. 4- AJ Sinfully Wicked – Could add some value to the exotics.

Race 4: 4- Secret Trainer – Was a beaten favorite last time out, but could prevail for his backers this time around. 7- Morpheus –
Looks to have a big shot in here despite the poor post draw. 1- Yougottabecrazy – Should be fresh off a layoff and looks to be a factor
from the rail. 2- Turn Two – Has as good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 1- Autocorrect Hanover – Draws the rail upon dropping in class and looks to pace home a winner. 4- Giuseppe Mollusca –
Another that looks to be tough upon dropping in class. 3- Western Churchill – Could add value to the ticket. 6- Spirited Encounter
– Could add further value to the exotics.
