$94,783 PICK 6 CARRYOVER AWAITS HORSEPLAYERS FRIDAY ON A 9-RACE CARD AT SANTA ANITA

Track officials estimate the total pool will exceed $600,000

            ARCADIA, CA (May 11, 2025)— There is a $94,783 carryover in Friday’s $2 Pick Six at Santa Anita after no one successfully cracked Sunday’s Pick Six sequence at The Great Race Place. Track officials estimate the total pool will reach $600,000.

Helping to trigger the carryover was 3-year-old colt Tariff, who won the fifth race under Armando Ayuso for trainer Peter Eurton and paid $53.20. The carryover was clinched in the ninth and final race when Miss Jo’s Curlin, ridden by Juan Hernandez for trainer Brendan Galvin, won and paid $24.20.

The consolation payout for tickets with 5-of-6 winners returned $423.00

The winning horses in Sunday’s Pick Six beginning with fourth race were #8 Miss Miche Lada ($2.20), #3 Tariff ($53.20), #3 Atomic Drop ($7.20), #6 Freedom’s Not Free ($4.00), #6 Momad ($10.20) and #7 Miss Jo’s Curlin ($24.20).

9 Yeaboi has been the victim of wide barriers in both runs this prep and has finished off strongly each time against the race shape. Interestingly, this marks his first try at the course and distance, and though drawn in barrier 10 he does look ready to turn in a peak effort in what, as always, shapes as a wide-open Class 5 contest. #8 Mr Aladdin has also copped poor draws recently—barrier 11 in his past two starts—and stuck on well from that awkward alley last time to hold second, though he remains a 21-start maiden. Surely a Class 5 win is within reach. #10 Leather Master was a long-standing maiden until breaking through at his 20th attempt last start, beating Mr Aladdin over this track and trip. It was just his sixth run for the Manfred Man yard and the improvement since the stable switch suggests he’s turned a corner. The margin of over a length last start bodes well for his chances again. #2 Kingly Demeanor can bounce back at any time in Class 5, boasting two wins from eight attempts in the grade. He has early speed, will roll forward, and can give a bold sight if he gets things his own...
