4TH RACE – (4) ENDEAVOR was quite proficient week ago, handy, first-up Levy win. Mid-pack venue affords options, none of half-dozen foes ought to scare.

5TH RACE – (3) DR. J HANOVER has not had any sort of luck in Levy this season. Was wiped out and shuffled out in pair of tries, third time ‘peeked’ charm?

10TH RACE – (2) GREAT VINTAGE does not need intro., though after 180 career starts we give him one. Way too much post relief for this certified speedball.

11TH RACE – (1) MAC’S JACKPOT could not reach week ago after a solid second in series opener. Curious to see what sort of pole trip he works out tonight.

6 TH RACE – (3) FREAKONOMICS is an admitted reach in this division of
Matchmaker. That said, she ditches two eight-holes in last three tries, so let us see.

7 TH RACE – (5) SEASWIFT JOY N gets what amounts to her weekly nod in
this missive. Lass made three—count ‘em, three—Matchmaker moves in last, stay.

9 TH RACE – (2) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE was taken out of last, but can’t
hide from us. Chased this one last handful, always with sufficient pace to stay at it.

11 TH RACE – (4) THE LAST CHAPTER makes just fourth seasonal try and
offered outer-venue speed in last. Guess leaving here, though he may not be alone.

Angus McNae’s Meydan Overview & Bet Selections:

The Dubai World Cup Meeting is a highlight of the year for me and this year will once again be a magnificent occasion.

My task is to make a profit and before I give you the various combinations that I have worked out, it is worth remembering a few punting maxims when it comes to the racing at Meydan on Saturday:

1. Early pace and a prominent position on the dirt is key.
2. The rail on the dirt is golden, if only because it is the shortest way round this sharp track.
3. Turf races tend to be steadily run and late pace is vital. It’s hard to make up ground from too far back which, to a large degree, is a function of pace.
4. Don’t presume International raiders just have to turn up to win. Carnival form is very strong. Last year, six winners on World Cup Night had raced on Super Saturday at Meydan.

Here are my selections:

7:15am ET Meydan – Muntazah/Heavy Metal

Muntazah broke a long standing track record here on Super Saturday and is an impressive dirt horse.

Heavy Metal won this race last year and shaped very well having missed the break behind Muntazah last time. He could spring a surprise if breaking better and these could be two for a reverse exacta.

8:30am ET Meydan – Stormy Liberal

Blue Point will be all the rage here but I feel he is vulnerable in a strong run 6 furlong race whereas over 5f he is almost unbeatable.

Stormy Liberal is a class act at Santa Anita and was narrowly beaten in this race last year – he makes each way appeal.

9:05am ET...

Tonight’s “Lock” is at Cal-Expo: Race 3 #4-One Chief -In great spot to get 1st win for the season for driver Luke Plano.

Last “Lock” ran 2nd. Record now stands at: 370 of 598 wins with 115 seconds and 30 thirds.
