SATURDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 16
Race 1: 9- Rocksy’s Way – Finished second in all four of her most recent races; could step-up and get the job done this time
around. 1- Rockin Sue – Should be tough from the rail. 2- Imgonnacatchya – Could add value to the ticket.
3- Kyleeslilenforcer – Looks to be in the thick of the action.
Race 2: 6- Red – Draws into a soft group; this one gets the top-call to start the Pick 5. 5- Jump Start – Drops in class and could
do well in here. 9- Ruler’s Best – Should make the ticket from the second tier.
Race 3: 4- My Caroline – Won two of her last three races and could strike again tonight. 1- Jetomatt – Looks to be a solid
contender from the rail. 7- Derek Delight – Could add value to the ticket. 8- Canaco Star – Could add further value to the
exotics.
Race 4: 2- Juliana’s Director – Drops in class and looks to be successful in here. 5- Doyoudesiremyheart – Could do well
upon coming to Northfield. 1- Nashville Nasty – Looks to be tough from the rail. 6- A Dandy Bryer – Has as good of a shot as
any in here to complete the Superfecta.
Race 5: 4- ER Monica – Just missed last time out; may not miss this time around. 1- Good Lookin Woman – Could be tough
from the rail. 6- Johnsbadgirl – Could add value to the ticket. 8- Do U Mind – Could grab a piece of the action despite starting
from the far outside.
Race 6: 2- Chitty Bang Bang – Draws into a race where several could win; this one gets the slight call over several others to get
the job done in here. 3- Hot Patootie – Finished second two starts in a row and could be the runner-up again tonight. 1-...
Some insights into tonight’s racing program.
1ST RACE – (3) ARTIFACT HANOVER has had no chance to display his wares in pair of local efforts against better. Sort of have to try him off opener dip.
2ND RACE – (6) CHESTNUT SCHOFIELD found the porridge way too hot at adult table week ago. We’ve gazed at him of late, guess gonna try from last here.
4TH RACE – (6) THEREISAPACEFORUS is a tricky choice in here, but did suck us in with good lane pace once extricated in last. Obviously needs way into it.
7TH RACE – (6) WEONA SIZZLER A does go third off bench, getting first legit shot to be involved. Kept away from big table by stablemate won’t hurt at all.
8TH RACE – (2) BETTOR’S FIRE N was a handy winner from this venue a pair starts ago. AWOL after crisp rally in last, wins 2-thru-7 draw this time around.
10TH RACE – (1) BLAYDE HANOVER is a number we’ve hopped aboard a number of times. Figured upon leave that didn’t happen week ago, no pole excuse.
12TH RACE – (2) THE WAYFARING MAN did nothing but go through the motions in season bow. Wasn’t a surprise, nor would appreciating finale draw, dip.
——
$2 +/ – (thru Tue., Feb. 12) – 24 wins ($139.30)
from 145 ($290) selex (-$150.70, trying to find unsuspecting co-conspirator)
highest-priced winner – MALNIFICENT ($24)
lowest-priced winner – ROCK LIGHTS ($2.60)

otally Free posted the fastest training race effort on Thursday at Remington Park, covering 250 yards over a fast track in :16.653, during the fourth of nine events.
Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Reliance Ranches of Guthrie, Okla., Totally Free is trained by Mike Robbins and was handled in her training score by jockey Stormy Smith. A 2-year-old filly by Coronado Cartel from the Mr Jess Perry mare Tan Thin And Rich, Totally Free broke well and was hustled to the lead by Smith. She drifted in slightly over the final yards but still managed to win by three-quarters of a length.
Thursday’s training races were conducted under mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-60s. The light westerly wind was at 10mph and a rare crosswind at Remington Park for the first five races, before turning and becoming a tailwind out of the north for the final events.
Remington Park training races will continue to provide pre-season opportunities to 2-year-olds with the next set of events set for Wednesday, Feb. 20.
