From the “Ayers Above TUESDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 11
Race 1: 2- Avenue Hanover – Made the ticket in two of his last three races; could step-up and lead the ticket this time around. 3- How
Are Yee John – Made the ticket in all three of his last three races and could be right there again tonight. 9- Silver Spir – Could add value to
the ticket. 5- Farnerssixfournine – Should not be overlooked as a solid contender in here.
Race 2: 2- Dragon Ruler – Won two of his last three races and could strike again here. 7- Walk From Heaven – Could do well in here
despite the poor post draw. 5- Wizard Of Odds – Could add value to the ticket. 1- Bourbon Billy – Looks to be in the thick of the action
from the rail.
Race 3: 1- Seal Sniper – Has two wins in a row and could garner a three-peat this time around to start the Pick 5. 6- Pattis Main Man –
Another that looks to have a big shot in here. 4- Marvelous Man – Could add value to the ticket.
Race 4: 3- Worldofrockzee – Won her most recent effort and could strike again tonight. 4- Dragon Damsel – Also won her most recent
start and looks to be tough again. 1- Tenwillgetutwenty – Should be a solid contender from the rail. 6- Balerina Rosa – Has as good of a
shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.
Race 5: 7- Jojo’s Journey – Draws into a race where several could win; this one gets the slight call over several others to get the job done in
here. 5- Mesmerized – Another that looks to have a big shot in here. 1- Phi Alpha – Looks to be in the thick of the action from the rail.
4- Chad – Could garner a piece of the action.
Race 6: 9- Joggingtothebank –...
Some insights into tonight’s racing program.
3RD RACE – (2) AMERICAN ASSASSIN has broken stride in his last three purse tries, raising many red flags. Field Is 10-for-157 this season, so if he paces…
4TH RACE – (5) NOTMEIT’SYOU finds way in lower-level Excelsior event off barn change. Invades from Northfield as third-time Lasix, needn’t be whole lot.
6TH RACE – (4) MOOSE MADNESS is a number we’ve gazed upon of late, offering fair trot along the way. This may be above level of competence, however.
7TH RACE – (6) GERRIE’S SPORT continues to draw rotten, this time third off class dip. Surmising he’s at least as useful as anyone here, provided he reaches.
8TH RACE – (3) PURPOSE BLUE CHIP offered some solid, eight-hole foot last time this statebred group was here. Edge in opener of NYSS Milt Taylor Trot.
10TH RACE – (5) TULLOW N returns off good Pocono close, seeing lesser than when last seen. Figuring he and foe directly outside are both leaving in finale.
——
$2 +/- (thru Sat., Sept. 8) – 244 wins ($1,983)
from 1,055 ($2,110) selex (-$127, weekend was not the stuff of touting lore)
highest-priced winner – HIGHVIEW CONALL N ($43.60)
lowest-priced winner – CHASIN’ DREAMS ($2.30)

The eighth and final “regular season” visit of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) to Batavia Downs brings the 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings to Genesee County on Wednesday (Sept. 12) to compete in two divisions for a total of $109,000 dollars. The Batavia Downs track record for 2-year-old pacing colts is 1:54.2 and that standard is definitely in danger of going down.
The NYSS events are carded in race three and five. Two $15,000 Excelsior “A” legs will be held in race one and two. Post time for the first race is 5 p.m.
The first $54,500 NYSS freshman pace features the top point earner in the series Melodies Major (Art Major-Hilarious) and the red hot Hickfromfrenchlick (So Surreal-My Girl’s A Star) in a race that could easily rewrite the local record book.
Melodies Major has raced exclusively in NYSS events this year and has excelled, winning five out of seven of them. And he’s been successful over every size track in the state. In his most recent outing he scored a big come-from-behind win at Vernon Downs, taking a new lifetime mark of 1:51.3 in the process. He comes in here sharp as a tack and looking forward to the final.

It was déjà vu all over again for Wings Of Royalty who followed the same script he did three weeks ago; going wire to wire to win the $15,000 Open Handicap trot at Plainridge Park and doing it in track record time.
It was all Wings Of Royalty (Shawn Gray) from start to finish. Gray rushed him out to the lead and then set fast fractions of :26.4, :55.4 and 1:24.3 by almost two lengths before rounding the far turn and trotting home alone in :28.4 to win in 1:53.2.
The winning time ties the track record for aged trotting horses that he set on August 23.
The Massachusetts-bred Wings Of Royalty ($3.00) has now won his fifth straight race in a row (three of which were at Plainridge) and sixth of the year for owner Ray Campbell Jr. George Ducharme is the trainer.
Driver Shawn Gray had the hot hand on Monday winning four races on the card. Besides Wings Of Royalty, he got across with Stingy (1:59, $4.40), Storyofmylife (1:55.4, $2.80) and Secret Delight (1:55.2, $6.80).
The Wicked Hi-5 Pentafecta pool continues to grow with no winner again on Monday. So Tuesday (Sept. 11) there will be a carryover of $10,380 available in the Wicked Hi-5 wager in the sixth race. Post time for the first race in 2 p.m.
