Race 1: 5- Mesmerized – Gets the top-call to start tonight’s Daily Double. 6- Chips So Fast – Could do well upon his return to racing. 2- Team Zordin – Could add value to the ticket. 4- Zolena – Should not be overlooked as a legitimate contender in here.

Race 2: 1- Go Rrrilla – Draws the inside advantage and that advantage could be key to being successful in here. 3- Western Legs – Finished second last time out and could be right there again tonight. 4- Crow Foot – One of several in here to make the ticket. 6- Littlemissycamluck – Could add value to the exotics.

Race 3: 1- Gambler Springs – Could score upon coming to Northfield to start tonight’s Pick 5. 7- Sand Royal Blu – Was a winner last time out and could be right there again tonight. 4- Mister Oliver – Could add value to the ticket.

Race 4: 2- Latte Jo – Finished second last time out; could step-up tonight to get the job done. 7- Classic Jesse – Could do well in here despite the poor post draw. 5- Fly’n Ellie – Could do well in here if she minds her manners. 9- Stoneborough – Has as good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 4- Tidewater Teddy – Drops in class and could get the job done at this level of competition. 7- High And Tight – Looks to be tough in here despite the poor post draw. 9- Branded Gun – Should get a good trip from the second tier. 6- Nirvana Gear – Could be in the thick of the action despite facing the boys.

Batavia Downs Offers A $2500 Guaranteed Pick-5 Wednesday

As a result of no winning ticket once again on Saturday (Dec. 2), Batavia Downs will offer a $2,500 guaranteed early Pick-5 pool when racing resumes on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 6) at the oldest lighted harness track in America.

The Pick-5 is a 50-cent base wager that begins in race one and runs through race five. There is no consolation payoff, meaning if no one selects all five winners the entire pool (minus takeout) will be carried over to the next Pick-5 pool.

Wednesday’s guaranteed pool is part of the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program and as such, free program pages courtesy of Trackmaster are available on the USTA’s website.

This link will take you directly to those program pages.

Yonkers’ Monday Pick 5 Pays Some Bills

Yonkers’ Monday Pick 5 Pays Some Bills

Dec 5, 2017

When five wagering favorites in a Pick 5 sequence all go down, one of two things happen…

1)      It’s going to carry over, or

2)      It’s going to pay very well.

It was the latter for one lucky bettor, taking down a five-figure Yonkers Raceway payday Monday night (Dec. 4th).

Buoyed by a carryover of a bit more than $2,000, there was just over $11,000 of fresh money sent through the windows. Thus, after new-coin takeout, the races 7 through 11 winning combination of

2-Bold and Brassy (Jordan Stratton, $5.60)

2-Twin B Speedo (Stratton, $23.60)

4-Warrawee Sunshine (Brian Sears, $5.10)

            3-Lindythefourteenth (Jason Bartlett, $20.20)

            6-Hail Damage Blues (Bartlett, $24)

returned $10,341.25 for that lone correct half-a-buck wager. Ironically, in the last leg, 13-10 choice Juxta Cowgirl (Dan Dube) was snapped at the wire. Had she won, it would have resulted in a double carryover, though we’re guessing the lady/gentleman who cashed would not have seen the irony.

Yonkers Peek At The Program -Tuesday, December 5

Some insights into today’s racing program for our IdaBet.com players:

4TH RACE – (5) FEELIN’ RED HOT hasn’t earned a nickel in last handful, with poor posts and (theoretically) faster foes. Taken to enjoy some respite here.

5TH RACE – (6) SAGE N makes first local appearance since November of ‘16. That was against substantially better, though she’s not the same lass, either.

6TH RACE – (3) CHANGE THE RULZ N has been over her head in last few tries, and outer/second-tier starts haven’t done much for cause. Works versus these.

7TH RACE – (6) ELEKTRA EXPRESS nearly upset cart of apples in latest with solid off-the-pace effort. Finds herself going against suspect group of elders.

8TH RACE – (6) SOVEREIGN BANNER N goes second off dip to bottom in search of first stateside win. Looking all around, couldn’t ask for softer rivals.

9TH RACE – (3) I LIKE DREAMIN’ did pay his way at Pocono this season. Always thought there was more to him, but we surmise he certainly fits with these.

10TH RACE – (5) EMPEROR MONTANA N makes third start after a brief hiatus, with much better getaway than in local return. No reason he can’t play here.

12TH RACE – (7) FAMEOUS WESTERN is a seasonal 0-fer, and out of his element any number of times. Goes second off class dip, useful if he gets involved.

——

$2 +/- (thru Sun., Dec. 3) – 315 wins [inc. 2 dead-heats] ($2,346.90)

from 1,439 ($2,878) selex (-$531.10, should have parental warning)

highest-priced winner – GYPSY LEATHER ($57.50)

lowest-priced winner – GREAT VINTAGE/FUNKNWAFFLES ($2.20 each)
