Northfield Picks From The Ayers Above- Tuesday, November 28

Northfield Track Announcer Ayers Ratliff’s free handicapping tips are provided for our IdaBet.com players.

Remember, due to their draw schedule, picks are made in advance and do not account for scratches or late driver changes.

From the “Ayers Above” MONDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 27

Race 1: 3- Wendy’s Girl – Looks to be victorious upon coming to Northfield. 2- Jackie Goldstein – Another newcomer that looks to be tough in here. 1- Muscolo – Could do well from the rail. 4- Jojo’s Journey – Looks to be in the thick of the action.

Race 2: 4- Silverhill Delight – Drops in class and looks to be able to get the job done in here. 3- Pickwick – Looks to be on the lead and will be the one to catch. 7- Midnight Gambol – Could make the ticket despite the poor post draw. 2- Irish Ihada Harley – Draws well an could grab a piece of the action.

Race 3: 6- Kirty Dream – Could trot home a winner despite starting on the outside. 5- A Little More Love – Looks to be tough upon coming to Northfield. 4- Walltocousins – One of several in here that could make the ticket.

Race 4: 4- Albionkinginfinito – Could be successful upon coming to Northfield. 2- Papiamento – Looks to be tough upon dropping in class. 6- Well Did – Won two of his last three races and looks to be tough again. 3- Clinton Hanover – Has as good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 4- Skyway Jaguar – Could nab a victory upon traveling to Cleveland. 9- Emerald Chip – Should get a good trip from the second tier. 1- Patient ID – Looks to be tough from the rail. 8- Big Package – Could grab a piece of the action despite starting from the far outside.

Race 6: 4- Just Crowned – Draws into a race where several could win; this one gets the slight call over several others to get the job done in here. 9- Halfa Century – Another that looks to have a big shot in here. 5- Windsun Stetson – One of several in...

Yonkers Peek At The Program – Tuesday November 28, 2017

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

3RD RACE – (4) BEACH SCENE finds herself priced to move, same angle which led us to No. 6 here a week ago. Far from prolific winner, but there’s value.

4TH RACE – (6) TRIGGER FINGER floats back in from New England and continues to pay his way. Veteran is always a threat versus local bottom feeders.

5TH RACE – (5) TORRID BROMAC N slithers under monetary ceiling for this lesser condition. Closed well enough versus better in latest, could leave here.

7TH RACE – (2) MILLWOOD FAITH N nearly stole it double-digits last in this crowd. Returns to the high end of his powers, should play politely with these.

8TH RACE – (1) SAM’S ESCAPE has turned into fairly regular endorsee of ours. Was tardy for his meds in latest, necessitating a scratch, but wins draw here.

10TH RACE – (3) SUPER IMPOSED N leaves some of Delaware’s best, and while those lines don’t always translate, his Pocono resume may. Earns tepid nod.
11TH RACE – (3) DULL ROAR hasn’t come anywhere close to reaching in last few locally. That said, he draws much better tonite and needn’t be whole lot.

12TH RACE – (3) SAMMY THE BULL N was more than a bit overmatched of late (better chance of someone taking us for 50-large). Legit finale shot, though.

VOTING NOW OPEN FOR SECRETARIAT VOX POPULI’ AWARD

Racing Fans Can Vote for Eighth Annual Winner

Online voting is now open for the eighth annual winner of the Secretariat Vox Populi Award. Created by Secretariat’s late owner Penny Chenery, the Vox Populi, or “Voice of the People,” Award recognizes the racehorse whose popularity and racing excellence best resounded with the public and gained recognition for the sport during the past year.

Fans can vote in the online poll, which can be found at Secretariat.com for one of six nominees selected by the Vox Populi Committee this year. Voters also have the option to write in a racehorse of their choice. The poll is open through Dec. 12, and a public presentation to the 2017 Vox Populi winner is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2018, at Santa Anita Park.

This year’s nominees are: Arrogate, the talented and enigmatic 4-year-old colt who in 2017 became the top all-time North American earner after impressive wins in the inaugural Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes and the Dubai World Cup; Ben’s Cat, the late, four-time Maryland Horse of the Year who amassed the devotion of a legion of fans in an eight-year racing career that concluded in 2017; Gun Runner, the commanding 4-year-old colt whose outstanding achievements this year include $6.9 million in earnings and four consecutive Grade I victories culminating with the Breeders’ Cup Classic; Lady Eli, the sensational 5-year-old racemare who overcame laminitis to win three of her five 2017 starts finishing out a...

Del Mar Springboards Off Breeders’ Cup to its Best Fall Season

The highly successful first Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar – which has drawn rave reviews from coast to coast – got the track’s fall meeting off to a rousing start and that momentum carried through the four-week season, which concluded Sunday. The track’s fall meet numbers were the strongest since it began autumn racing in 2014.

All sources average daily wagering – which does not include the two-day Breeders’ Cup November 3 and 4 – was up a robust 7.5% as compared to 2016. Out-of-state handle increased 10.3% and on-track betting rose by 4%. Noteworthy, too, was the fact that the 14-day meet final wagering figure of $153.1 million exceeded the 15-day total of $152.5 million from 2016.

Happy wagering and thank you for choosing IdaBet!
