Race 1: Sheng Shui Handicap

12 Shenron gets his chance to try and make all. He steps away favourably from gate one with the apprentice aboard and under no weight he could prove hard to catch. #1 Diamond Soars mixes his form but does break favourably from an inside draw. His consistency holds him in good stead. #8 Tronic Mighty will need to offset the wide gate. He does get Zac Purton up which is a big plus. #6 Shanghai Power narrowly missed three runs ago. He’s in the right vein of form still.

Race 2: Fanling Handicap

6 Baron Zee did well two runs back at Happy Valley. Expect he can return to that form and he’s done enough so far to suggest that he is capable of collecting a first win over this sort of trip. #1 Wonder Years should relish the dip in grade. He’s a course and distance winner who can conserve energy throughout from the draw. #5 Sky Gem is always a threat over this course and distance. Chances are they pull a mid-race move to get him home. Big watch. #4 Loyal Ambition is racing well and will be thereabouts.

2 Faribault was beaten by the gate last time out. He steps...

12 Alloy Star is racing well and he gets his chance again at the bottom of the handicap. He’s nearing his peak and the booking of Karis Teetan is a plus. #7 Aca Power is closing in on a first win. He’s in form and has shown that he is capable of getting on the board. The Hugh Bowman and David Hall combination has been on fire this season. #1 Le Plus Vite is ready to win and should figure strongly off his current rating. #2 To Infinity will improve in this grade. Strong booking of Zac Purton warrants respect.

Race 2: Wing Lok Handicap

12 Splendid Star is on an upward trajectory. He’s turned his form around this term and although he’s drawn wide, he looks well placed to figure with a clean run home and necessary improvement. #2 Flying Mighty makes the dip to Class 5. He’s a course and distance winner who is suited in this grade under Zac Purton. #1 Star Of Yuen Long narrowly missed last start. He could take catching under Lyle Hewitson. #12 Foxhunter Way maps to get the dream run just in behind the pace. He can save ground – which he needs to do – and get his chance. #4 Charizard has been doing well in the grade above. He’s suited to Class 5 and he gets his shot here. #2 Flash Famous only needs to offset the wide draw to be a factor. Keep safe.

Race 2: Yik Yam Handicap

1 Lucky Diamond’s last two runs in Class 4 over this course and distance have returned wins. Expect he rolls forward to lead here and, just like previously, prove difficult to catch. #12 Reach Goal is coming to hand. He’s had several difficult runs in transit across recent outings and a few favours should spark improvement. He can win if he gets those. #6 Happy Angel brings the right form. Strong booking of Zac Purton warrants consideration. #11 Tycoon Jewellery mixes his form. His best could see him figure.
