10TH RACE – (2) ARTIFACT HANOVER earned a Candygram after latest, pocketed win at $19-plus number. Well-placed to leave again and doesn’t owe us.

11TH RACE – (2) STELLENBOSCH has been gazed last couple, racing well first-up last couple, tough defeats last couple. Maybe shorter route grabs the gusto.

12TH RACE – (4) VAGUE TRACES earned an eight-ball nod in local return and much board coin for supposed leave that never happened. Dips, no finale alibi.
