RACE 2 8 Wart Speed broke his maiden for one of the meet’s top T/J combos … he’s ambitiously placed in this affair. 1 Mighty Vinnie is winless in his 7 most recent starts … if he’s OK on the inside, he could improve off his last. 3 Bondurant broke his maiden last time out and stretches up to 550 yards … he could have an impact today.
RACE 3 6 Carters Success may not have liked sloppy going January 22 … a repeat of his two-back makes him tough. 3 Dash Corona Cash gets a rider change for his third of the season … he also drops from $15K to $5K today. 7 Corona Dance I got a month off after two starts in 17 days … if the rest did him good, he may have a shot.
RACE 4 10 Jmf Special Jess drops in class and shortens up … those two changes might make the difference in this race. 8 Adrinni makes his fourth try of the season at the $5K MCL level … he’ll need to step it up to beat the top one. 9 Born To Beatcha might have had an excuse in his first try at this level … a cleaner trip would help him out.
RACE 5 8 J Boy A was overmatched in his derby trial on February 7 … it could be “all systems go” with Vallejo back up. 1 Gozoso Cartel crossed the line first, but was DQed, in his “one and only” … watch to see how this one acts. 7 The Wise Oak has finished second in each of two at the meet … with just a little better, he’ll be right in this.
RACE 6 10 Streakin Dilly faces her softest foes since breaking her maiden … the black mare needs only repeat her last. 4 Blessing in Disguise takes a small drop in class this time out … the 6YO got real close in her last on 1/25. 1 Pm Louisiana Oak broke his maiden here, but that was over a year ago … the drop in class might help out.
RACE 7 7 Captain Bd stumbled at the start in his first try against winners … with a better break, he’ll be the one to beat. 2 Miss Huerfanita loses “money man” Vallejo for her first off the claim … she was haltered from the top stable. 3 Spit Like Six broke his maiden in Louisiana last October … he beat two next-out winners as a 12-1 outsider.
RACE 8 7 Carters Money acquitted himself well in the Tallahassee on January 31 … he’s the one they’ll have to beat. 2 First Down Date has been competitive, but winless, in 3 a today’s distance … he gets a stronger rider here. 3 Toodles Destiny is also out of a solid Tallahassee try … as the ‘cappers like to warn, “Look who’s riding!”
RACE 9 6 Sherman C tanked as the favorite in his first try against winners … his sharp trainer drops him down to $5K. 5 Corona Patrone also takes a drop in class here … he’ll have to be at his best if he expects to win this event. 1 Ward Ed flashed early “lick” at 400 yards on February 6 … improved “stick” is imperative for better in this one
