Yonkers Peek At Program- Saturday, February 1st

Some insights into tonight’s first-of-month racing program for our IdaBet players:

1 ST RACE – (5) PICKLED PREACHER is a number we’ve gazed at in past,
demanding value. Sees a spongy soft group this time around so nodded in opener.
3 RD RACE – (4) MARTY MONKHOUSER A comes off solid speed try for
this number, though path to lead again figures somewhat difficult here. Undaunted.
4 TH RACE – (2) HILL OF A HORSE would not have earned four-eyeball in
here with poor draw. Has generally raced well working up ladder, needs to earn it.
6 TH RACE – (5) FIREBALL leaves the land of high-end claimers, where he
was paying bills. Has no choice but to chase in here as few inside of him can leave.
7 TH RACE – (2) MANVERICK has been well-meant in pair of local efforts,
dusting lesser while fooling few at windows. Who’s to say he can’t maintain form?
10 TH RACE – (4) BETTOR MEMORIES is a bit of a reach in nite’s featured
pace. Returns off win at Dover though recent local starts were wholly inconsistent.
11 TH RACE – (2) UNICO LEGEND N sat to lane in a North American debut
before solid late lane interest. He won’t be near baker’s-dozen-to-one of week ago.

2020 $2 +/- (thru Tue., Jan. 28) – 30 wins ($162.60) from 104 ($208) selex
(-$45.40, does not include windfall from ‘Big Game’ prop bets)
highest-priced winner – SHEZALLAPPLES A ($12.40)
lowest-priced winner – ROCKIN’ THE BOYS A ($2.30)

Happy wagering and thank you for choosing IdaBet.com!

Yonkers Peek At Program- Friday, January 31st

Some insights into tonight’s last-of-month racing program for our IdaBet players:

1 ST RACE – (6) BEYONDTHESILENCE N did tire readily when dipped to
this bottom claiming level in last. Maintaining his best is better than rest of these.
3 RD RACE – (3) LET’S FOAL AROUND is obviously priced to move here,
knocking 37½ percent of his previous determined value. We can’t go past that fact.
4 TH RACE – (3) AMERICAN EMPRESS N was put in play with last week’s
four-eyeball, then came up empty in lane. Gonna try lass again, stubborn as we are.
6 TH RACE – (1) ROCK ON PRECIOUS tries it third off reclaim, getting too
much post relief to ignore. Has burned coin before this level, approach cautiously.
8 TH RACE – (3) MR. COOL SEAEYRE N had less than no shot in last few
tries both sides of river. Did not offer much either, intrigues guessing leaves here.
11 TH RACE – (6) WESTERN BEACHBOY steps out of claimers, steps into
another outer-half draw. Should not be above pay grade if finds way in finale fray.

2020 $2 +/- (thru Tue., Jan. 28) – 30 wins ($162.60) from 104 ($208) selex

(-$45.40, have not reached ‘inconsequential’ a month in)
highest-priced winner – SHEZALLAPPLES A ($12.40)
lowest-priced winner – ROCKIN’ THE BOYS A ($2.30)

Good luck today and thank you for choosing IdaBet.com!

NYRA Partners With Oaklawn Park As Cross Country Pick 5 Returns On Saturday

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will team with Oaklawn Park to host a Cross Country Pick 5 on Saturday, highlighted by the Grade 3, $250,000 Withers from Aqueduct Racetrack and the $125,000 American Beauty from Oaklawn.

The New York path to the Kentucky Derby trail continues Saturday at the Big A with the 140th renewal of the Grade 3 Withers, which offers 10-4-2-1 qualifying points to the top-four finishers.

Grade 2 Remsen winner Shotski will have to topple a talented field of eight in the Grade 3 Withers which will kick off the Cross Country Pick 5 in Race 8 with an approximate post time of 4:25 p.m. Eastern.

The Cross Country Pick 5 continues in Race 9 (4:56 p.m.) at Aqueduct, a 6 1/2-furlong claiming sprint for older horses that features a salty field of nine led by last-out winner O Shea Can U See.

Racing action switches to Oaklawn Park to complete the sequence beginning in Race 7 (5:09 p.m.), a wide open allowance optional-claiming tilt with a field of 11 hard-knocking sprinters.

Race 8 (5:38 p.m.) from Oaklawn is the American Beauty, a six-furlong sprint for fillies and mares 4-years-old and upward led by the multiple Grade 1-placed Amy’s Challenge. The field of eight also includes Grade 1-placed Special Relativity and the improving Mt. Brave.

Closing out the Cross Country Pick 5 in Race 9 (6:09 p.m.) is a full field of 12 allowance sprinters, with two also-eligible entrants waiting in the wings. Sigalert, a $420,000 purchase at the March 2018 OBS, will make his Oaklawn debut for trainer John Sadler. After finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity and fifth in the Grade 1 American Pharoah as a juvenile, Sigalert missed his sophomore season but returned to action in January when fourth in an optional-claiming sprint at Santa Anita. Sigalert will look to rally his way to victory over a field likely to be led to the turn by the Steve Asmussen-trained American...

2020 Dubai Racing Carnival – Thursday 30th January

2020 Dubai Racing Carnival – Thursday 30th January

Jan 29, 2020

The fifth meeting of the 2020 Dubai World Cup Carnival takes place tomorrow, please find below the Week 5 Meydan Overview and bet selections written by Racing TV’s Angus McNae.

Meydan Overview & Selections – Week 5:

Last week two horses threw their hat into the ring for the Al Quoz sprint. Equilateral put up one of the best performances of the Carnival in winning on the turf over five furlongs and Glorious Journey travelled strongly before winning the Al Fahidi Fort over 7 Furlongs. Both have a chance of being competitive on World Cup night although Equilteral may always be best at 5 furlongs. Glorious Journey reminds me of Jungle Cat who also won the Al Fahidi Fort before tasting Al Quoz glory. He could be a live outsider on the night.

Four selections at Meydan this week:

10:05am Meydan – Barney Roy

This formerly classy three year old makes his debut in a weak looking Al Rashidiya and if ready to fire, he will take a fair bit of beating. As a three year old he finished second in the 2000 Guineas to Churchill and then won the St James’s Palace Stakes. After missing 2018 he won a Listed race at Longchamp before going off favourite for the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot where he ran poorly. He has not been seen since but this could just be the environment that will allow him to thrive.

10:40am Meydan – Universal Order

I was really impressed with this horse when he won here at the beginning of the year and he can go in again here. He showed a sharp turn of foot to win that day having been held up off the pace in a slowly run race and a 5lb rise in the handicap underestimates his superiority that day. This step up in trip will be no problem and his hold up style and change of gear is perfect for this turf track. He has had 28 days to get over his exertions and thus should avoid the dreaded bounce. He looks certain to go well here.

12:25pm Meydan –...
