PICK 6 CARRYOVER OF $20,764 SET FOR FRIDAY NIGHT

There will be a Pick Six Carryover of $20,764 heading into the Friday night 8-race program at Los Alamitos. The Pick Six sequence will start in race number three, which will feature 10 Quarter Horses racing 300 yards. Here are the field sizes for Friday’s card: 8,8,10,9,9,7,9,7.  With the new money expected to be wagered on Friday evening the total Pick Six pool could be over $100,000. First post is 6 p.m. with the first race of the Pick Six scheduled for approximately 6:56 p.m.

The third race is for maiden claimers and will be headed by Salvador Rabago’s Foosilero, who has finished second and third in his last two outings. Victor Gomez’s Hitters Last Swing, who has consistently posted the fastest times among the horses in this race, is another big contender here, as is Donald Conway’s Dashing Is Easy, who’ll make his first start for trainer Hector Magallanes after being claimed out of his last outing on April 18.

The main event of the night is the eighth and final, an allowance test with a purse of $13,100. Jorge Carmona’s Bad Likker, who scored a victory in the trials to the Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes but was scratched out of the final, is back in action for the second time since that trial win. This field will include Kolleen Ledgerwood’s Come Forth, a Governor’s Cup Futurity finalist last year, and Ed Allred’s Sounds Good, who ran third to Up And Coming in the James Smith Memorial Handicap on April 5. Friday’s card will also feature nine-horse fields in each of the three races for juvenile runners.
