Yonkers Raceway does not have a turf course—the last anyone checked—but that didn’t stop some of the participants for Saturday afternoon’s (Oct. 13^th) $1 million YonkersInternational Trot @ Empire City Casino.

France’s Up and Quick (with caretaker Angelique Beaufils) and Lionel from Norway (with caretaker Per Pergenius) took to the track’s infield Friday (Oct. 12^th) for a stroll and a bite, respectively. They, along with the other eight entrants, were to be in the Raceway paddock by 1 PM Friday in preparation for the 40^th International. The detention rules and regulations were as directed by, and administered through, the New York State Gaming Commission.

Please be advised that the Big Fresno Fair will move to a 12:45 p.m. first post to accommodate an 11-race card on their closing day (Sunday, October 14). There will be mandatory payouts on all pools including the .20 cent Gold Rush Pick 6 (last 6 races of card) and the .20 cent Gold Strike Super High 5 (last race).

1ST RACE – (6) OUR REGAL IDEAL N couldn’t sniff runaway winner last out same class/venue. That was quickie mile, surmising better chance to work here.

3RD RACE – (4) LOOKINFORADVENTURE had less than no chance as a ‘40’ last time here. Some late Philly pace in latest, returns at much reduced level.

6TH RACE – (2) FERNLEIGH REBEL N went evenly when ‘peeked’ in first local/stateside try. Draws better, should be tighter as able driver makes U-S return.

7TH RACE – (1) CHANGE STRIDE N tries it second off substantial R&R, a toughie to gauge. Was fringe player in spring’s G-M Levy Series, these ain’t them.

8TH RACE – (5) GRAVE DANCER was no-threat second for this number in a claiming handicap against better. Everyone’s priced the same here, so worth shot.

9TH RACE – (4) SOUTHWIND CRUZE sort of forces us to stay. Second to Harvey Invitational entrant two back, arrived way late in latest, much closer now.

10TH RACE – (4) ALL ABOUT MADI was a first-up winner when nodded two starts ago, then offered pace sitting three-hole in last. Gonna chase someone.
