4^TH RACE – (4) HOOVES ON FIRST has not been as consistent as she was season ago, but hangin’ around for morsels along the way.  She’ll win…eventually.

6^TH RACE – (2) ROLLING SEA gets this contrarian nod in second round of Sagamore Hill Series. Chased odds-on sort (No. 5 here) week ago, pocketed now?

7^TH RACE – (1) TREMENDOUS PLAY plays some catch-up after ‘peeked’ scratch in opener of Sagamore Hill. Pole, fresh Lasix sort of force us to stay again.

8^TH RACE – (5) ROCKIN’ RAMBARAN returns here and to level of latest win. Finds what is, by condition, a very camera-shy group, as much license as any.

12^TH RACE – (7) DOJEA SOLO did not receive any help from Mr. and Mrs.  Autodraw. Goes second off claim after solid close in last and needs help in finale.

Some insights into tonight’s Ides of March racing program for our IdaBet.com players:

3^RD RACE – (3) LUKE’S COWBOY goes second off claim after some good late interest from outer venue. Not necessarily proven number versus these, but…

5^TH RACE – (4) HELLO HOT SHOT has been far from prolific since return to town, all at this level. That said, draws bit better and couldn’t get blanker rivals.

7^TH RACE – (2) DIABANDO offers hideous win resume, as in 3-for-40 over past two seasons. Did beat bottom crowd couple of starts ago, decent getaway now.

9^TH RACE – (2) O’SUNDLAND was eight-ball nod in last, doing everything right…until he pulled pocket and went backwards. In six places, gazed once more.

10^TH RACE – (4) SIR PUGSLEY invades for first Westchester try since last August. Credible going through restricted foes then, class-tested this time around.

11^TH RACE – (2) CHUCARO ACERO BC is boardless in a trio of 18 tries, last couple at this level. No reason to surmise he can’t get a useful trip from here.

12^TH RACE – (4) WAVES OF FIRES A returns to level of last win, max of his abilities. Forgiven for subsequent tries, edge in ‘Happy Birthday Shirley’ finale.

A friendly reminder from Yonkers Raceway that Tuesday evening’s (March 13^th) Pick 5 wager starts with a carryover of $8,478.75 and a $20,000 guaranteed pool.

 The Pick 5 is a 50-cent base wager comprising races 7 through 11 (if less than 11 races, it’s final five races during that particular card). It has no consolation payoff, meaning if no one selects all five winners (as was the case Monday night), the entire pool (minus takeout) moves to the next racing program.
