A friendly reminder from Yonkers Raceway that Monday evening’s (Jan. 29^th) Pick 5 wager starts with a carryover of $1,558.62 and a $10,000 guaranteed pool.

 The Pick 5 is a 50-cent base wager comprising races 6 through 10 (for these 10-race cards, ordinarily it’s races 7 through 11). It has no consolation payoff, meaning if no one selects all five winners (as was the case Sunday afternoon), the entire pool (minus takeout) moves to the next racing program.

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

1^ST RACE – (1) COCO CHANEL has to be more formidable than what she was from pole in local debut, when she was out a month. Wins draw again, so nod.

3^RD RACE – (7) ALRIGHT GUY was gazed upon in seasonal debut, but was driven quite passively despite getting support.  Moves outside tonite, so let us see.

5^TH RACE – (2) D G’S ELSA was a longshot ‘peek’ in latest, trying to leave before retreating. Sort of have to gaze her way again with significant venue relief.

8^TH RACE – (7) CLASSY CHAPEL N had a very credible North American debut, getting support while chasing home logical foe. Taken to overcome impost.

9^TH RACE – (1) THE WALL builds off last week’s decent effort with some serious post relief, much tighter this time around. Won’t see last out odds, though.

10^TH RACE – (4) CAVIART CHERIE actually double-bumps up restricted ladder in search of third consecutive win. Beaten up lesser, albeit with facile trips.
