of this missive. We begin 2018 with the faith that we can unearth some winners, though how long that lasts is anyone’s guess)

1^ST RACE – (1) TOWNSLIGHT HANOVER was a seasonal 1-fer in 2016 and 2017, though solid second in final ’17 try. Pole earns him first new-slate nod.

2^ND RACE – (4) CONSOLIDATOR lasted against high-conditioned crowd when last here. Lass broke to end ’17, but we’re taking shot in first adult-table trot.

4^TH RACE – (6) PATTON was actually four-eyeballed versus much better after hitting town. Couldn’t hang with those, but gets substantial class relief here.

6^TH RACE – (1) PINGALING won at first local asking, then jumped it off in subsequent pair of tries. Did stay flat in latest purse try, so tepidly gazed upon here.

9^TH RACE – (5) DARK POOL was going nowhere fast from outer venue in against tougher. Surmising fair value from better getaway in hard-to-figure event.

10^TH RACE – (8) PANAMANIAN HANOVER paid his way over three-turn PA ovals season ago. Draw obviously did him no favors, price if he gets involved.

and could be tough in here. 3- Umygeorgia Hanover – Could add value to the ticket. 8- Sweet Talia – Could grab a piece of
the action despite starting from the far outside.

Race 2: 9- Steph’s Place – Was a winner last time out and could strike again tonight. 4- Cowgirl Chic – Another that looks to
have a big shot in here. 8- Apach Of Luck – Could make the ticket despite starting from the far outside. 2- Richerthanrayno –
Looks to be in the thick of the action.

Race 3: 2- Becks Wood Place – Draws well upon dropping in class and could pace home a winner. 3- Tammysmist – Was a
winner two starts back and could be tough again. 5- Big Bad Ashley – One of several in here that could make the ticket.

Race 4: 6- Heather – Draws into a race where several could win; this one gets the slight call over several others to get the job
done. 1- Hickory Big Black – Looks to be tough from the rail. 4- Bellas Quik – Could add value to the ticket. 3- Callacam –
Has as good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 3- Thebigbamtheory – Has been second two starts in a row; could step-up and get the job done this time around.
5- Amazing Graciejane – Won her most recent effort but faces tougher foes this time around. 1- Brian’s Magic Girl – Could
be tough from the rail. 8- Good Roberta – Could grab a piece of the action despite starting from the far outside.

Race 6: 7- Canaco Star – Finished second last time out; could...

With the dangerous low temperatures and negative wind chills, Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment  is canceling live racing for this Friday and Saturday (January 5 & 6).

“For the safety of our human and equine participants we decided to cancel live racing this weekend,” said GM and COO of Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment Jason Settlemoir.

The track and Winners Bayonne OTW are open for simulcasting beginning at 11 a.m.

Live racing will resume on Friday, January 12 at 6:35 p.m. and will feature a $125,000 guaranteed Pick 5 for races 3-7. The race cards will be redrawn by the Race Office, entry deadline is Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Mahoning Valley Race Course has cancelled live racing for tomorrow, Saturday, January 6 due to extreme temperatures and wind chills.

Live racing from Mahoning Valley is scheduled to resume on Monday, January 8.
