Yonkers Peek At Program- Thursday, September 20th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet.com players:

(reminder, no racing tomorrow night [Night of Champions detention
in paddock], but we’re expecting you here for Saturday’s $1.8 million program. Also, note special card Wednesday, Sept. 26th @ usual 6:50 PM)

3RD RACE – (1) ELEKTRA EXPRESS effectively lost all chance with early misdeed in last, did recover for ‘in tight’ fourth. Well-placed in a ‘handicap’ event.

4TH RACE – (8) SILVER BUCKEYE finds way here from Ohio fair circuit, into potent barn. Opposes squat in his local debut, so taken to negotiate eight-ball.

5TH RACE – (8) LADY MACBETH added straps upstate, but they didn’t do much for cause. Probably not reaching, we’re four-eyeballing for future reference.

7TH RACE – (1) GERRIE’S SPORT sees the inner half of gate for first time since the invention of autodraw. We’ve taken shots with him before, have to stay.

8TH RACE – (3) DOJEA SOLO did not disgrace himself in last, offering late pace when ‘peeked’ despite four weeks off. He’s leaving here or your money back.

9TH RACE – (3) LILY’S SWAN POND earn the gaze in last, offered belated trot without finding room in lane. Intrigues us enough to hope he finds cleaner trip.

——

$2 +/- (thru Mon., Sept. 17) – 249 wins ($2,006.10)
from 1,090 ($2,180) selex (-$173.90, we’re not amused by all these seconds, nope)

highest-priced winner – HIGHVIEW CONALL N ($43.60)
lowest-priced winner – CHASIN’ DREAMS ($2.30)

Red Shores Thursday, September 20th

A red hot Three Truths will face off against seasoned company in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

First race post time is 6:30 P.M. for the 11-dash program with a power packed field of seven contesting the race 10 featured pace for a $2,350 purse. Three Truths rides a three-race win streak into the event and will draw post 5 for driver Kenny Arsenault, trainer Paul Doyle and owners Jason Rice of Kensington and Darren Doyle of York, P.E.I. The five-year-old son of Shadow Play defeated the same preferred 2 class in his latest start while taking a new lifetime mark of 1:55.1. Three Truths defeated three of the horses racing against him this week but will also have to contend with a pair of class droppers and a front-end specialist with an improved post. Perfect Escape (Driven by Gilles Barrieau) jumps up in class for this race but draws post 1 this week and proves deadly when he acquires the front end. The outside duo of Winter Blast (Jason Hughes) and Red Magician (Adam Merner) drop out of the preferred 1 class to try and cut Three Truths’ win streak short. Also in the field is Rockin Indy (David Dowling), Elm Grove Kaboom (Marc Campbell) and Tobinator (Corey MacPherson).

The $1,950 Open trot lines up in race 8 of the program with Majian Tango the favourite from post 6 for trainer-driver Jim Ripley and owner Marylea Ripley of Amherst, N.S. His stablemate Majian Chester (Ken Murphy) is installed at 7-2 odds from the rail, while Dusty Lane Jacob (MacPherson) was an impressive winner last week and gets post 2. Sophomore stakes trotter Buckaroo will leave from post 7 as he faces off with aged company for trainer-driver Campbell.
