Northfield Park Selections for March 1, 2016

Race 1: 1- Beer League – Was the beaten favorite last time out but could prevail for his backers this time around. 7- Broadway Bound – Could do well in here despite the poor post draw. 4- Muscle On Broadway – Finished second last time out and could be right there again tonight. 3- Rockin H Cherry O – Looks to be in the thick of the action.

As you, our IdaBet.com players already know, Hialeah Park’s 2015-16 live Quarter Horse racing season, the 7th since racing returned to this iconic South Florida landmark in 2019-10, ended Monday February 29.  What we thought you would want to know is that Hialeah’s meet ended with record-breaking wagering numbers both on-track and through all-sources simulcast wagering.

Over 39 actual days of competition, with races from the cancelled card on Monday February 1 added to cards late in the season, the all-sources handle totaled out at $15,587,616. That figure topped the previous season high of $13,913,073 –set over 40 days of the 2014-15 meet– by $1,674,543.

On track, local horseplayers and visitors from around the world wagered a total of $1,548,190 through the wickets at Hialeah Park, topping last season’s $1,412,733 sum by $135,457.

Versatile and could pick the right strategy here. 5-ON THE TAB…not afraid to gulp air when given room to roam. RACE TWO 7-THE MUSCLER…swept up into contention on backside & wore ‘em down in the lane. Right back. 2-DOMINUM DEO…tried backside move in last into :28 quarter. Simple cover flow makes ticket. 1-WELL CONNECTED KID…raced very well in Amateur event in last. Drew well and fits company.

RACE THREE 1-ROCKNTOUCH…on a bit of a roll lately and fits this company with NW6 clause. Like right back from rail. 3-CRUIZIN K C…tried cutting the mustard in last. Likes of the pace much better & can brush with best of ‘em. 5-SEEK THE DRAGON…pulled around final turn & was gaining on leader when ran out of racetrack. Danger.
