May 3 Racing News
Hello Racing Fans for Saturday, May 3
HANDLE DOWN ON OAKS DAY
Wagering fell 5.5% on Churchill Downs racing card Friday. The nation’s largest group of racing fans, HANA, urged a boycott of the action as a result of increase in takeout at the last minute. Churchill has also come under fire from prominent horse owner Rick Porter who was not offered seating for the day despite having horses in the stakes race as well as being a Horse of the Year owner and Derby owner in the past. More bad news when legendary jockey Ron Turcotte of Secretariat fame told the media he’s been refused a handicapped parking pass for several years. In addition, many ADW’s are prohibited from taking the racing action at Churchill forcing many fans to sites they don’t want to play with.

May 2 Racing News
Hello Racing Fans!
For Friday, May 2 – YOU WIN NOT BETTING THE DERBY
(Updated from Thursday)…Yes, I realize it’s racing’s greatest day, but let’s face it, the Derby isn’t really your best bet. To begin with, a field of 20 horses means anything can happen and it’s not like any of these horses have experience with such a big field…even the jockeys only have a once a year shot to hone their skills in such a crowd. With Idabet.com, you will still have hundreds of races to bet on Saturday and you can bet many of them will be offering you rewards up to 8 times more than you would get on the Derby.
So sit back and enjoy the race and root for a possible Triple Crown…but when it comes to making money, stay ahead of the game by playing tracks that WANT your business and will earn it with quality rewards. Thanks for sticking with us this weekend.
Meantime, the an attempt by members of the nation’s largest horse racing fans organization says it is being overwhelmed with support in its boycott of betting on Churchill Downs and the Derby. A group spokesperson says it’s time bettors are treated like real customers and not casino patrons.
The group is upset over a recent increase in the takeout at CD after they were rated as a good value track, the poor conditions of their Fair Grounds owned track and huge compensation paid to executives at CDI while racing is relegated to second class status.
The public announcements that top owner Rick Porter was denied seating this weekend despite horses running in major stakes and being a Horse of the Year owner and the public outcry against the treatment of Secretariat’s jockey Ron Turcotte not even getting handicapped parking has taken a lot of luster off racing’s big day.

NEW MINIMUM BET AT MEADOWLANDS
Beginning with the Friday, May 2nd racing program at The Meadowlands, the minimum bet required for the Early and Late Pick Four wagers will be fifty-cents. The decision was made due to the majority of customers expressing their desire for having the minimum bet for the two wagers reduced.
“For the past 18 months, this is something that we have been thinking about,” said Director of Racing Operations Darin Zoccali. “I have posed the question several times to our customers and have utilized social media looking for input as well. Over the past 18 months, I have seen a change in the majority opinion on the matter. Previously, the majority of our players liked the $1 minimum. About one year ago, it became more of a 50/50 split. Now, the majority of our players appear to prefer a $.50 cent minimum wager. I have asked many of our customers, but the deciding factor was a recent poll we placed on Facebook, asking our customers if they prefer a $.50 cent or $1 minimum wager for the two pick four wagers. The result was overwhelming with 86% of those responding opting for the $.50 cent minimum.”
