As a native Marylander and worked at Delaware Park for years, I obviously was glad to see Havre de Grace winning Horse of the Year. Her Delaware races with Blind Luck were among the best events you’ll ever see. She becomes the third straight female to capture Horse of the Year and the Delaware Handicap’s mantra for years has been “With a filly or mare, come to Delaware.” Hard to believe the Delaware Handicap is still not a Grade i.
Rick Porter owns car dealerships in Delaware and Havre de Grace is a charming small town on the shores of the northern portion of the Chesapeake Bay. It was also home to a great racetrack Havre de Grace Park, also known as The Graw from 1912 to 1950.
The roster of names that race there is as a great as any track in the first half of the 20th century including, CITATION, SEABISCUIT, SIR BARTON, MAN O’WAR and WAR ADMIRAL.
The track was squeezed for business and limited racing dates by Delaware Park and Garden State and then closed when purchased by the owners of Laurel and Pimlico.
Below is the Blood Horse story on the Horse of the Year.
TEBOW MANIA ENDS

Numerous of our promotion players bet on all 3 Patriot horses with Cm Patriot returning a healthy $16.40 in a QH race at Hialeah. That alone made the promotion fun and along with another $25 bonus from Idabet.com, made it quite profitable for the day. Hope you had fun with the promotion.
