VINTON, LA. – Led by Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint Champion Hightail and morning
line favorite Goldencents, a field of nine horses for the 10th
running of the $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot (Gr. III) was finalized on
Wednesday morning and post positions were drawn. The big race takes place
Saturday afternoon at Delta Downs Racetrack Casino & Hotel with a special
first post time of 1:15 p.m. CST. The $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot will serve
as the seventh race on the program and is scheduled to go off at 4:15 p.m. CST.

Hightail, who is conditioned by Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas, will become the
first Breeders’ Cup winner ever to start in the 1 1/16-mile test for
2-year-olds and will appear in the program as the third choice at morning line
odds of 9-2. Hightail’s journey will begin from post position five under jockey
Ragiv Maragh.

The 5-2 morning line favorite for the big event is Champagne Stakes (Gr. I)
runner-up Goldencents, who will break from outside post position nine under
jockey Kevin Krigger for trainer Doug O’Neill.

O’Neill will have two chances for victory in the race as he will also send out Best Pal
Stakes (Gr. II) winner Know More (4-1) under jockey Mario Gutierrez. O’Neill,
Gutierrez and owner J. Paul Reddam also teamed up to win this year’s Kentucky
Derby with I’ll Have Another at Churchill Downs in May.
