Selections By “The Ace” John Hernandez

Monday January 18, 2016

2     One Wicked Spit Curl lost any shot for the win with trouble in her local bow … strong jock Silva takes the call.

6     Gridiron Gem also gets a rider change after a lackluster out … maybe she goes better under Luis Guerero.

5     First Sunday hasn’t hit the board in four local starts … that said, always take note when Rodrigo Vallejo rides.

3     Special Game Wrecker has been a close runner-up in 2 at the meet…maybe she can break through for a win.

7     Hopeing for Success was the beaten fave in the common heat with the top horse … count her in with a shot.

6     Katcandoux finished a no-threat 6th in the common race with ‘Wrecker … perhaps she goes better in this one.

3     Grannys Rocket lacked a clear flight path when 3rd on New Year’s Day … trainer/jockey combo can win races.

6     Apollitical Courage was outfinished in his comebacker January 9 … he could go better with added distance.

4     Staccato Mambo also had trouble in the same race as the top horse … that said, he’s had plento of chances.

9     Jesstempting was a no-threat longshot in her 12/27 stakes trial … she returns for a winning trainer/jock duo.

7     Stel The Won was scratched out of a maiden claimer on January 9 … he’s been off since a late October out.

8     Leave You Streakin is a 5YO first-timer for trainer Adrian Soto … he’s enlisted good jock Delgado to ride.

6     Gambit runs for a trainer/jockey tandem having a solid season … she got her first career win in her last start.

5     Honey Ryder B might be the one they have to beat … she’s a comebacker for the potent Kearl/Vallejo duo.

1     Jm Onehotchickie just missed as the 4-5 favorite on January 4 … she loses Thedford, but picks up Reyes.

8     Tres Noches tries winners for the first time after an eye-catching maiden score … might he repeat that effort?

4     El Mezcal won first out and ran in an Indiana Grand stakes … he could certainly improve off his local debut.

3     Stormy Cartel earns an ALW try after a decent 3rd on 12/29 … the 6YO got close in 2 local outs in early 2014.

9     The Ultimate Eagle has been off since facing tougher last Spring in OK … his trainer knows how to prep ‘em!

6     Down Seis scored as the favorite in his seasonal debut … he’s a contender with a repeat of that winning race.

2     Cootinks Flying Ace picks up “The Money Man” for his second of the meet … he improves with a clean trip.

4     Sweet And Sticky ran too good to lose in her seasonal bow January 1 … she can definitely win this time out.

3     Breaking The Bank appeared to be trading water in Louisiana… maybe a change of scenery will help this guy.

2     Washot was not against $15K maiden claimers here January 9 … thus, the filly returns with a $5K price tag.
