Race 1: Wheelchair Fencing 1200m Handicap
#7 Magic Traveller makes his debut. He’s done well at the trials ahead of his first start and the inside draw should afford him his opportunity. Take a chance on him. #4 Sunlight Power did well on debut to grab third. He’ll be closing late again and looks destined to grab a first win very soon. #6 Ho Ho Star looks to have his fair share of ability. He can make his presence felt first-up. Take an each way ticket at odds. #1 Speedy Smartie has the wide draw to overcome. Don’t discount.
Race 2: The Hong Kong Sports Association For The Physically Disabled 50th Anniversary Cup Handicap
#4 Sparkling Knight is chasing back-to-back wins. Expect he flies forward to lead down the outside rail under apprentice Ellis Wong. One to catch. #8 Dream Winner has impressed at the trials. He gets his chance first-up for champion trainer Frankie Lor. #6 Sparkling Dolphin does his best racing down the straight. He was a tidy winner two runs ago who should press for the early lead. #9 Hong Kong Hall gets the services of Zac Purton. He’s steadily improving with each outing.
Race 3: Development Focus Para Sports 1600m Handicap
#1 Bulb Prince drops to Class 5 and gets Zac Purton engaged. He looks to be in the right vein form of form and he will really appreciate racing in this grade. #8 Beauty Nova seems to do plenty right except for win. He can make his presence felt from an ideal draw. #2 Star Of Glory will relish the grade. He could be the value runner of the race and is worth an each way ticket if he’s double figures. #9 Mister Arm mixes his form but is a threat from gate one in this grade. He gets his chance.
Race 4: Boccia 1600m Handicap
#9 Looking Cool has consistency on his side and is a winner in the grade above. He pairs favourably with Karis Teetan this weekend off a mark that suggests he is capable of returning to winning ways. #2 Fast Buck can mix his form but does know exactly what it takes to win in this grade. He didn’t fire on the rain affected track last time out. #4 Master Of Fortune won with plenty still up his sleeve last time out. He’ll be thereabouts again. #6 Right As Rain will get back and run on. He’ll be finishing hard over this trip.
Race 5: Lawn Bowls 1800m Handicap
#11 Telecom Cheetah can win with a clean run home. The pace looks solid and he should get his opportunity to overhaul this group. On his day he has a very, very powerful finish. #2 Round The Earth steps down to Class 4. Zac Purton hops up and his booking for David Hall bears close watching. #8 Forever Glorious is chasing back-to-back wins. He’s found his niche and remains a big chance. #1 Circuit Nine makes the dip to Class 4. He’s better than his recent form suggests and could be over the odds.
Race 6: Table Tennis 1400m Handicap
#11 Regent Glory can find the front and give them something to run down here. He’s in a rich vein of form and Karis Teetan’s retention is a big plus. One to catch. #1 Red Hare King won with authority last start. He looks well placed to maintain that level of form for Tony Cruz. #6 Charmander is on the quick back-up. He’s a big threat from gate one for Jamie Richards. #10 Loriz can mix his form but does have the benefit of an inside draw. He gets his chance under Brenton Avdulla.
Race 7: Tenpin Bowling 1000m Handicap
#8 Ka Ying Spirit has trialled well ahead of his return. He’s returning from a setback but his best form has come over this course and distance previously. The wide draw is a positive and he’s worth taking a chance on. #5 Flying High is after a fourth consecutive win. He’s in superb form and does own a slick personal best over the course and distance. #3 Pleasant Endeavor loves the trip. He gets a handy 10lb taken off with Ellis Wong’s apprentice claim in use. #11 Flying Dragon slots in light. He’s a bit of value.
Race 8: Badminton 1200m Handicap
#8 Ready To Win turned his form around last start. He’s doing enough to suggest that he can continue that level of racing here. Vincent Ho’s retention is a positive. #11 Lucky Encounter was nothing short of impressive when winning last start. He rises in grade, which will prove another challenge. #6 Prince Of Porty is a two-time winner from three starts. He looks to have a few more rating points still in hand. #10 Silver Sonic drastically reversed his form last start. He gets his chance at odds. Take an each way ticket.
Race 9: Para Sports Coach 1600m Handicap
#8 Sunny Star has caught the eye in trackwork. He pairs favourably with Vincent Ho and the prospects of a fast pace should see him test this group. He’s worth taking a chance on here at odds. #11 Amazing Victory is consistent and gets a handy pull in the handicap with 121lb assigned. #5 Sweet Encounter caught the eye at the tail of the field last start. He’ll enjoy the return to a mile. #1 Tuchel has the class edge and brings the right form lines to this contest. Zac Purton’s booking holds him in good stead.
Race 10: Para Sports Volunteer 1400m Handicap
#11 Happy Daily deserves another win this term. He’s been reliable all season and should arguably have more than one win next to his name this campaign. Karis Teetan takes the ride and’s the one to beat. #5 Beauty Missile can park close to the speed and give this group something to worry about. He’s got his fair share of ability. #3 Beauty Inspire continues to improve and appears to have acclimatised now. #1 Mighty Stride came unstuck on the wet deck last start. Expect sharp improvement.
