RACE ONE EARLY DOUBLE- 3-1, 3-6, 3-8, 8-1, 8-6, 8-8 PICK-5 – 3,8 w 1,6,8 w 1 w 1,2 w 6,8,9 3-BOLD STRIKE…has good gate speed to gain the top spot for an early yield for garden trip. Been facing tougher crowd. 8-IMMINENT RESPONSE…was chewed up and spit out in last and still hung in there gamely at the end. On the engine here. 4-SORRENTO HALL…been giving hints last couple start. Made nice double-bubble move 5/16s out in last & held on well.
RACE TWO 8-ADO DUHARAS…kind of an “iffy” proposition but, if minds his manners, has the goods to show his heels in this event. 1-CHIP CHIP PAGE…took her a while to find her best stride but, once revved up, was rocking and rolling right to the wire. 6-BLACK AUTUMN…lightly raced four year-old got a picture perfect journey in last and was one stride away from the win.
RACE THREE 1-ST PETE STAR…first start back in almost a month was very credible but came up a little bit short late. Should be tighter. 4-WESTERN LEGEND…came from out of the clouds in last to nail it in the final stride or two. Steps up but form is solid. 2-VAN GUNDY HANOVER…been hampered by outside posts in recent but drew much better & can turn on afterburners!!
RACE FOUR PENTAFECTA – (Box) 1,2,3,4,8 1-McGREAT…was used very hard early in last from outside post & then shuffled backside. Should be cozily close in here. 2-A FOOL FOR MARK…gave a nice hint in last showing backside pace :27.4. Patient drive could benefit when it counts here. 4-FREE LOVE…gets some class relief here after denting a vicious third quarter in last. That “hint” deserves consideration. 3-DIRTY DEVIL…marched up first over in last cutting in to a :27.2 backside panel before faltering a bit late. 2nd over here! 8-SHAMDEROCK…takes dip in class but post may hinder a bit. Still, can turn on the afterburners when on his best game.
RACE FIVE 8-WITTY’S WINNER…been lolly-gagging early in recent races but showed sharp backside trot in last denting quick panel. 9-M C FELIX…after 40th lifetime win in 200th lifetime start. Touchdown Teddy likely to be on the bullet train leaving here. 6-SMOKIN DABRA…been relatively sharp lately. Could be on the motor-bike when the Hummer leaves & settle in close.
RACE SIX PICK-4 – 1,7 w 3,5,6 w 1,5,6 w 6 1-SOPHIA SEELSTER…two moves in last—one at start and second one into the far turn & into the lead before nailed late. 7-PACIFIC DATE…in extremely sharp form for a long, long time. On the choo-choo when the train leaves the station hee. 5-CEVINA DE CHAKRIKA…tried “6’s” three starts ago and no-go but recent in “4’s” just too good to ignore. Versatile, too.
RACE SEVEN 6-MR MASSIMO…takes dip in class after getting shuffled a bit in last then forced into double-bubble move 5/16s out. 5-SANTANA BEACH…finds an amiable spot here. Loved backside binge in last denting quick panel (his :27.2). Patience!! 3-LYONS JOSEPHJNR…started grind forward under the line first time & paced middle half in :56—just nailed very late.
RACE EIGHT LATE DOUBLE – 6-1, 6-6 6-BOLI…don’t usually pick off a qually but this one has an explosive brush and, if ready, can handle this situation. Chalk! 5-LEGEND FIELD…was used unusually hard making the front but lost touch turning for home. Can turn it on if off the pace. 1-SKYWAY PIPPEN…hasn’t hit the winner’s circle yet this semester but always puts in good performance. Rail is key here.
RACE NINE SUPER HI-5- 6 w 1 w 2,4,7 w 2,4,7 w ALL 6-WIND RIVER CAT…mare was hung out to dry in last. Now moves to lowest rung on the ladder. Great spot for 2016 win. 1-TON OF LUCK…never did see the inner part of the racetrack in last while grinding forward through quick panels. Rail. 7-ROCK GROUPIE…was a termite most of mile in last. Gets Rob back & will grab some second over cover this time around. 2-SWEET BET…recent form is solid. Had stout pace in the lane last start. Drew well here and should be prominent factor. 4-MAID OF SILVER…was in the garden spot all the way in last but struggled to keep up to top pair late. Still, fits well here.
