year. It’s the $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot program, and it takes place this Saturday, November 19.

Many of the connections that will take part in the main event, which features 2-year-olds vying for a

massive first-place paycheck of $600,000 in graded earnings, are making final travel arrangements to get

to Vinton, Louisiana for the 1 1/16-mile showdown.

Listed below, in order of entry preference by earnings and graded stakes placings, is the latest information

from Delta Downs’ racing office regarding arrival plans.

 Drill: The winner of this year’s $250,000 Del Mar Futurity (Gr. I) is scheduled to fly from

Southern California to Shreveport, Louisiana at 5 a.m. PST Wednesday morning along with

Basmati and Longview Drive, who are also expected to start in the $1,000,000 Delta Downs

Jackpot (Gr. III). The Bob Baffert trainee and his traveling companions will then van from

Shreveport to Vinton, which should take approximately 3.5 hours.

ï‚· My Adonis: The winner of the $200,000 Jean Lafitte Stakes at Delta Downs has been stabled in

barn 6 since arriving prior to his October 22 triumph for trainer Kelly Breen. The son of

Pleasantly Perfect has been galloping over the track each morning under exercise rider Walter


ï‚· Dougs Buddy: The undefeated star of Northlands Park in Edmonton, Alberta arrived at Delta

Downs two weeks ago and is stabled in the stakes barn for trainer Joan Petrowski.

ï‚· Longview Drive: The son of Pulpit is traveling with Drill and Basmati on a flight from Southern

California to Shreveport, Louisiana Wednesday morning before making the van ride to Vinton.

Longview Drive would mark the first starter in the $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot for Hall of

Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.

 Jake Mo: The fifth-place finisher in this year’s $500,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint is

expected to van from Remington Park in Oklahoma to Delta Downs on Thursday for trainer Allen


 Laurie’s Rocket: Trainer Dallas Steward is expected to van the son of Bluegrass Cat to Delta

Downs from his home base at Fair Grounds in New Orleans either Friday or Saturday morning.
