Yonkers Peek At Program- Saturday, May 11th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet palyers:

1ST RACE – (6) BUGSY MAGUIRE tried leaving week ago, only to find no room at the inn. Prompted fractions and race fell apart, back to off-pace in opener.

2ND RACE – (4) MI NINA BONITA torched overnight crowd with life-best effort in last, earning shot in minor stakes company. Edge in division of Reynolds.

4TH RACE – (3) ON ACCIDENT caught the four eyes recently in Sagamore Hill Series here. Eight-hole speed in last, taken to work in this group of Reynolds.

8TH RACE – (3) WINSTON slapped bottom feeders, as he should have. This class hike won’t scare him, small stakes player at 3 gazed to handle added distance.

9TH RACE – (1) MAC’S JACKPOT gets a rare inner-half getaway, winning 1-thru-7 draw. Exits Levy and overnite adult table, can’t ignore these fun factoids.

12TH RACE – (2) OUR MAX PHACTOR N could not get there in marquee pace last out. ‘Peeked,’ closing winner in N-A debut previous, so we stay in finale.

——

$2 +/- (thru Tue., May 7) – 99 wins ($609.50)

From 507 ($1,014) selex (-$404.50, offer void outside continental United States)

Western Stepp Shows Her Mettle In Plainridge Distaff Feature

Western Stepp Shows Her Mettle In Plainridge Distaff Feature

May 10, 2019

Western Stepp was one of the toughest resident mares at Plainridge Park last year winning 26% of her starts. This year she’s already two-out-of-three after taking the $12,000 Winners-Over pace for fillies and mares on Thursday afternoon (May 9).

After being on the engine for the last three weeks, Western Stepp (Mitchell Cushing) found herself in the caboose watching Shesjustadelight N (Ron Cushing) dictate the fractions. That one took to group to the quarter in :27.1 and the half in :57.2. It was at that station Roll With Ann (Nick Graffam) got into the mix on the outside with Western Stepp following second-over in that tier.

Try as she did up the backside, Roll With Ann could not get closer than a length of the leader and by the three-quarter pole, Western Step had to tip three-deep around her with Spilling The Beans (Mike Stevenson) going four-wide as well. Now three across the track at the head of the stretch, Shesjustadelight N, Western Stepp and Spilling The Beans fought hard all the way down the stretch before Western Stepp simply out-fought her rivals to win by a neck at the wire in 1:54.3.

It was the third win in a row and 30th of her career for Western Step ($8.60) who is owned by Diane Dunn and trained by James Dunn.

Cushing added two more wins during the card to finish the day with a driving hat trick.

The fastest mile of the session was registered in the co-featured $12,000 conditioned pace for 5-year-olds and under when Notabadgame (Drew Campbell) pulled first-over from fifth past the three-eighths pole and motored to the lead by three-quarters. At that point Sometimes Always (Nick Graffam) came at him and drew alongside at the head of the lane. Three pylons into the straight Sometimes Always took the lead, but Notabadgame came back under methodical urging from Campbell to win by a length in 1:53.4.

It was the third win of the year for Notabadgame ($6.40) who is owned and trained by...

Yonkers Peek At Program- Friday, May 10th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

1ST RACE – (2) MARTY MONKHOUSER A was chasing quickie mile last try, grabbing minor appearance fee. In for tag now, may be above pay grade, but…

3RD RACE – (2) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N impressed these four eyes (and others) with solid close in N-A purse debut. Do not expect generous tote dividend.

5TH RACE – (4) SWING CITY had no shot to display his wares of late, with pair of eight-holes (one w/trailers) in last three efforts. Sort of have to try him here.

6TH RACE – (2) ALEXA’S POWER gets a very generous getaway in a solid distaff derby. Good seconds last couple and Matchmaker foes are three weeks out.

7TH RACE – (6) DONGAL RUNDLSCRK N tries it second off class dip and sees suspect lot for this condition. Rarely leaves, thus may need help getting into it.

8TH RACE – (2) ITTY BITTY probably lost confidence while overmatched in Matchmaker. Bridesmaid against level higher in latest, has no visible alibi here.

9TH RACE – (2) TROTTING GRACE did fail us upon arrival from Indiana, driven bit passively before tiring. Not quite ready to abandon ship with good draw.

Yonkers Peek At Program- Thursday, May 9th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

1ST RACE – (3) BROOKIE’S PRINCE N has been way over his head latest couple. Leaves claimers, falls to depths of bottom feeders, taken to get act together.

2ND RACE – (1) VOLARE goes eight-hole to pole, offering sufficient early foot to take advantage. That said, opposes some Trot Series refugees with aptitude.

5TH RACE – (2) EXOTIC DIAMOND is a well-vanned sort making second try off barn change. Lass did outrace odds in last out and seems functional as any.

7TH RACE – (5) DON’TFORGETMASTER picked off final part of ticket in last, not awful in trio of local tries. There’s a fair amount of inside speed to chase.

8TH RACE – (4) GREAT VINTAGE needs no introduction to this readership after any number of lovely Saturday efforts versus better. Hard to ignore this level.

10TH RACE – (1) ZOE ELLASEN was buried alive as odds-on fave in local debut. Shook loose late for second, ought to take no prisoners, short price in finale.

——

$2 +/- (thru Mon., May 6) – 97 wins ($598.30)

From 500 ($1,000) selex (-$401.70, continuing to appeal to the base)
