Wings Of Royalty Ties Track Trot Mark At Plainridge Park

Wings Of Royalty Ties Track Trot Mark At Plainridge Park

Sep 11, 2018

It was déjà vu all over again for Wings Of Royalty who followed the same script he did three weeks ago; going wire to wire to win the $15,000 Open Handicap trot at Plainridge Park and doing it in track record time.

It was all Wings Of Royalty (Shawn Gray) from start to finish. Gray rushed him out to the lead and then set fast fractions of :26.4, :55.4 and 1:24.3 by almost two lengths before rounding the far turn and trotting home alone in :28.4 to win in 1:53.2.

The winning time ties the track record for aged trotting horses that he set on August 23.

The Massachusetts-bred Wings Of Royalty ($3.00) has now won his fifth straight race in a row (three of which were at Plainridge) and sixth of the year for owner Ray Campbell Jr. George Ducharme is the trainer.

Driver Shawn Gray had the hot hand on Monday winning four races on the card. Besides Wings Of Royalty, he got across with Stingy (1:59, $4.40), Storyofmylife (1:55.4, $2.80) and Secret Delight (1:55.2, $6.80).

The Wicked Hi-5 Pentafecta pool continues to grow with no winner again on Monday. So Tuesday (Sept. 11) there will be a carryover of $10,380 available in the Wicked Hi-5 wager in the sixth race. Post time for the first race in 2 p.m.

Happy wagering and thank you for choosing IdaBet.com!

Yonkers Peek At Program- Monday, September 10th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet.com players:

3RD RACE – (5) WHO’S BETTER leaves a competent Meadows barn for a competent barn here. Twenty-three days between tries doesn’t enamor us, though.

4TH RACE – (2) MOUNT ROYAL has been far from inspiring all year, but sees inner half of gate for first time in while. Check-getting efforts lately, perhaps.

5TH RACE – (4) PROPHET BLUE CHIP is a seasonal 1-fer, but last time in this class, third in freaky-fast mile. Winner here won’t be nearly as swift, however.

8TH RACE – (3) RUN ONEOVER N hasn’t been in this cheap in quite some time. Simply ought to be better than these, stunned if he’s not controlling this race.

9TH RACE – (7) SOFER is, quite frankly, somewhat of reach here. That said, logical choice directly inside of him has run hot and cold and could tow this one in.

10TH RACE – (7) SOLO STORY may not be able to work with these, return venue after being claimed. Gonna need help, gonna be price as well in tough finale.

——

$2 +/- (thru Thu., Sept. 6) – 242 wins ($1,972.20)
from 1,040 ($2,080) selex (-$107.80, has denied all op-ed insinuations)

highest-priced winner – HIGHVIEW CONALL N ($43.60)
lowest-priced winner – CHASIN’ DREAMS ($2.30)

From the “Ayers Above  MONDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 10
Race 1: 3- Outburst – Drops in class and looks to be successful at this level of competition. 5- Keystone Chester – Has the ability to be
prominently placed on this ticket. 1- Osprey Vision – Could grab a piece of the action from the rail. 2- Concept – draws well and should get a good
trip.

Race 2: 5- Shooter’s Dream – moves down in class and could complete the Daily Double. 1- Cams Fernando – Was a winner two starts back and
looks to be tough again tonight. 8- Kings Beach – Could add value to the ticket. 6- Littlebitofabrat – Could grab a piece of the action.

Race 3: 3- Normandy Beach – Has two wins in a row and looks to garner a three-peat tonight to start the Pick 5. 7- Delightful Braeden – Could
do well in here despite the poor post draw. 1- Play The Field – Could add value to the ticket from the rail. 8- Khan Blue Chip – Could garner a
minor share despite starting from the far outside.

Race 4: 9- Sam Has Class – Draws into a race where several could win; this one gets the slight call over several others to get the job done in here.
6- Ray Hall – Another that looks to have a big shot in here. 1- Cabo San Lukas – Should be in the thick of the action from the rail. 5- Sweet
Honey – Has as good of a shot as any in here to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 1- Rocky Regal – Won three of his last four efforts and looks to be right there again tonight. 5- Momma’s Jolt – Looks to be a solid
contender with the right trip. 6- YS Joe – One of several in here that could make the ticket. 8- Good Win Earl – Could garner a minor share despite
starting...

Yonkers Peek At Program- Saturday, September 8th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

(reminder, no Sundays until Nov. 4th,  so permission to watch football).

1ST RACE – (5) THE LUNCH PAIL is one of few who’s actually helped by drawing out. Class dip ain’t gonna bother either, nor would some speedy intervals.

2ND RACE – (5) SOME PLAYA has been four-eyeballed more than once in this missive. Surmising not above pay grade at this level, but needs some guidance.

3RD RACE – (2) PACING MAJOR N is another fairly regular ‘victim’ here, slipping down ladder once again. If there’s an alibi this time around, can’t find one.

5TH RACE – (3) SATIN DANCER returns after third in world-record, extra- distance event at Pocono. Taken to slap around the lads in not quite adult-table trot.

6TH RACE – (1) SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP is back for first visit in nearly three months. We’re not sure if he’s top-shelf material, but pole-assigned and can use it.

9TH RACE – (6) TIGHT LINES is another returning here for...
