#10 Lucky Generations looks to get conditions more in his favour than last start at Sha Tin when he drew barrier 10 and was caught very wide without cover. The switch back to Happy Valley is a plus and the low draw brings the sort of map upgrade he enjoyed two runs back when he broke through well. #4 Happy Boys is edging closer to a win now entrenched in Class 5. He put the writing on the wall last time when he drew barrier 12, was eased back early, then surged late into third. #5 Podium closed well into fourth behind Lucky Generations last time and he was an easy winner the start prior. He maps well again and he is usually thereabouts. #8 Oriental Surprise has produced a few encouraging runs this season and he can have his luck turn from barrier 1 after being held up at Sha Tin last time from a wide draw.

Although the shorter trip is the query, the set-up looks ideal. #3 Storm Runner keeps doing plenty right without breaking through, posting four placings from five runs this season to take his record to seven placings from 15 starts and still no win. Eventually, everything will fall into place for him to land a blow. #7 Beauty Missile has not disgraced himself since the switch to the Brett Crawford stable and he can get a kinder run here, which lifts his chances on a third look at Class 5. #5 Super Sicario is up against it from the wide draw, but if he lands in a conducive spot he is not without a chance on his third run in the cellar grade.

#8 Woodfire Champ returns fresh and has trialled well enough to suggest he’s ready to run a race. From barrier 1 he should be able to use his tactical speed to settle hard up on the pace and give himself every chance. #3 Nebraskan slides into Class 5 and several of his recent Class 4 efforts would measure up strongly at this level. Barrier 2 suits his pattern and this shapes as a genuine opportunity to finally break through. #6 Sky Song backs up quickly after an okay fourth over 1000m last week and the rise to 1200m looks much more suitable. #12 Ever Smart continues to test the patience, still searching for a win after 23 attempts, but his latest third was a step in the right direction and he again looks set to receive every chance.
