Military Day at the Races – Sunday, April 24

WHAT:            Military Day at the Races Presented by Marathon recognizes the men and women who serve our country. All active and inactive members of the military and their families receive free general admission with a military ID.

A Family Zone in the North Terrace from noon to 4 p.m. ET will feature free food, live music and more. In honor of Month of the Military Child, children’s activities will be available throughout the afternoon. Military families also will receive a 15 percent discount from the Keeneland Shop.

Following Race 4 at approximately 2:45 p.m., a 40’ x 60’ American flag will be unfurled on Keeneland’s main track.

WHEN:           Sunday, April 24; Gates open at 11 a.m., post time for the first race is 1:05 p.m.

Reddam Racing’s Nyquist, the favorite for the $2 million Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1), continued his preparations for the 142^nd Run for the Roses by working five furlongs in 1:01.80 over a fast track at Keeneland shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday. (Click here for a video of the work.)

With regular exercise rider Jonny Garcia aboard, Nyquist started the work about a half-length behind Hopeful (G1) winner Ralis, who had jockey Flavien Prat aboard....
