Turfway Park Selections for Friday, January 22, 2016

Turfway Park resumes their racing card tomorrow and IdaBet.com is pleased to offer our valued players the track picks from Bret Battaglia for Friday, January 22nd.

Thanks for choosing IdaBet.com and have a great upcoming weekend!

Turfway Park – Bret Battaglia’s Picks: Friday, Jan. 22nd

  1.  DEVADUTT shows three decent efforts in his last three starts over the track and is the choice to

pick up the maiden win. BROADWAYDANNIEROSE has been beaten as the favorite in each of his last

five starts dating back to May. He shows some nice works over the track here at Turfway since his last

and definitely looks like the one to beat if he’s at this best. BEER ME didn’t show much last time out, but

should like the move back around one turn tonight.

2.  MOJA NAGRODA comes in off a second place finish against a few of these same horses and

rates a slight edge here. PEW finished just behind the top pick last time out and should move forward in

her second start back from the layoff. GLORY STUDENT broke her maiden in her first start over the

track and looks capable of running well here.

3.  KEEPING IT REAL was second behind a comeback winner in his first start over the track

back in December,. He figures to be on or near the lead again tonight and gets in light with Gallardo.

YA MON drops in class after two solid efforts at Hawthorne and looks like the one to beat.

SETTLEYOURCRACKERS showed some improvement last time out on the move back down in

class and looks like a nice fit at this level.

4.  MEGNOG didn’t fire against a tough starter allowance field last time out, but looked very

sharp drawing off to win by ten before that one.  Anything close to her best should make her a winner

tonight. RUPERTACTOFDUTY has won three of her last four starts, including a win here at Turfway...

Turfway Park – Bret Battaglia’s Picks: Thursday, Jan. 21

1. SEATTLE SASS looked sharp winning here last time out in her first start since September. Any improvement off of that one would make her tough to beat again tonight. WILD ABOUT JACK drops to this bottom level for the first time and looks like the one to beat. WILD CARD HIT comes in off a nice win at Tampa and has to be considered.

2.  T C’S LUV drops in class after being second best as the favorite last time out and looks like he’s in a good spot to pick up the win here. X CON finished behind the top pick last time out and is a contender. BOLD VISIONARY comes in off a nice maiden win here at Turfway.

3.  DREAM BROTHER was second best at this same level last time out and is the choice for the win here with Jimenez picking up the mount for Maker. NOTMUCHTOLOOKAT takes a big drop in class in his first start since September and should be dangerous if he’s ready. CROOKED COURT drops in class and is a threat.

4.  AZIFORCAST has been second in each of her last three starts, but hooks a slightly softer field tonight and should be able to pick up the win here. CHA CHING JACKPOT has run well in her last two starts and looks like a contender again tonight. HOT FRENCH FRIES didn’t show much last time out, but is capable of better.

5.  LIVIN’ A PRAYER ran a nice third at long odds in her debut at this same level. She gets Lasix for the first time tonight, give her a slight edge here. BLONDE IN THE CITY finished just ahead of the top pick...

The five-year-old Tribal Rule mare bred in California by owner Nick Alexander won the restricted Kalookan Queen Stakes last out, going to the front at the start of the 6 ½ furlong test and widening to finish 4 ¼ lengths on top at the wire under Mike Smith, who has ridden her three times, each resulting in victory.

“I just leave it up to Mike,” said leading trainer Phil D’Amato when asked if Sunday Rules could harness her speed should the occasion arise. “He gets...
