MY REVENUER PULLS OFF 19 TO 1 SHOCKER IN POMPANO OPEN TROT

Pompano Beach, FL…January 26, 2016…In an evenly matched septet featuring a pair of 5 to 2 chances on the tote-board and two others at 3 to 1, it was a 19 to 1 outsider—My Revenuer—that upset the applecart in Pompano Park’s $12,500 Open Handicap Trot on Tuesday night.

The eight year-old gelded son of Revenue S, handled this night by Brad Kramer, avoided trouble around the final turn by ducking inside of two “breakers” and closed fastest of all to nail the victory in a photo finish, stopping the timer in 1:54.3.

She’s All In, with Rick Plano in the bike, was second while Uriel, teamed up with George Napolitano, Jr., finished third after cutting panels of :27.3, :55.3 and 1:25 along the way.
Sailer Eddie finished fourth while Cashahallic finished fifth after vying for the lead through those fast two opening fractions.

When the Hummer Starting Gate left the station, She’s All In was away with alacrity with Uriel also away in good order but intent on the lead as Cashahallic was charging up from his outside post.

As the battle ensued up front throughout that opening half between Uriel and Cashahallic, She’s All In was content in third with Sailer Eddie fourth. On the backside, Escuela went brushing up followed by Winding Hill—the slight favorite.

At the third station in 1:25, Escuela moved to within a length of the leader...

If at first you don’t succeed… you know how it goes. So do the connections of California Chrome, who has just returned to Dubai in an attempt to better his second in last year’s Dubai World Cup.

This year, Chrome will run in Dubai before the big night; his second start of the campaign following a routine win in the Grade 2 San Pasqual Stakes at Santa Anita three weeks’ ago.

“For most horses, third of the layoff is when they’re at their best”, said Assistant Trainer Alan Sherman, who is in Dubai to oversee the horse’s preparation. “At the moment I’m favouring running in the handicap [on February 25^th] over a mile and a quarter, rather than the Maktoum Challenge, as it will give me an extra week, and I think that four weeks is about right.”

Alan travelled to the UK and back last summer with Chrome on his aborted Royal Ascot mission, but now believes the trip may have had its benefits.

SUPER INDIAN moves back in for a tag in his first start since August when he was third on the grass at Mountaineer. He ran a solid race before that one at Belmont as well and is the choice to pick up the maiden win here. ROCK HARBOR drops in class after an even effort in his first start over the track and looks like the one to beat. BLAZING SAINT was fourth in his debut and figures to move forward off of that one.

I’M SO VAIN didn’t fire last time out against starter allowance company, but was second against similar two starts back. She hooks a slightly softer field tonight and looks like she’s in a good spot to pick up the win. RED HOT PLOT shows three in the money finishes in her last three starts over the track, but is questionable at this distance. KERISMA was second best in her last start and could be dangerous here.

SOMMERVILLE MISS was no match for the winner in her last start, but was clearly second best in that one. She’s won over the track in the past and rates a slight edge here with Prescott back aboard. CASH IN MY POCKET drops in for a tag for the first time in her first start since moving to Werre’s barn. She’s been off since October, but has run well against tougher and will be tough to beat tonight if she’s ready. WISH KEEPER has a chance
