Yonkers Peek At Program- Thursday, September 6th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players

(permitted to watch football around this product).

3RD RACE – (6) UPFRONT SUPERSONIC has been collecting paydays at a bottom claiming level. That ought to make her competent as any in formless foray.

4TH RACE – (3) BETTERTHANBRIE couldn’t hack sire stakes competition and returns as Excelsiorite. Speed-tightened after requalifying, so worth tepid shot.

5TH RACE – (5) SHOW THE FASHION takes the Nestea Plunge from a 25- claimer down to rock-bottom condition. Made ugly break first off claim, however.

6TH RACE – (5) FASHION CREDITOR did not embarrass with adult-table crowd, though ain’t gonna refuse class respite here. Abbreviated field, worth shot.

7TH RACE – (8) DEDI’S DRAGON did not disappoint as ‘peeked’ winner in last after getting memo late. There’s no way of knowing if gets involved from here.

8TH RACE – (1) LINE DANCER was poor with repeat nod last out, a pocket fourth. We’re cynical, but wins draw in spongy opener of NYSS Mike Cohen Pace.

Western Stepp Shows Top Form In Plainridge Feature

Western Stepp Shows Top Form In Plainridge Feature

Sep 5, 2018

Western Stepp regained the top form she exhibited earlier this year at Plainridge Park as she won the $16,000 Winners-Over Handicap pace for fillies and mares on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 4) at the Ridge.

Western Stepp (Drew Campbell) flew off the wings and took immediate control of the race, setting fast fractions of :26.4, :55.3 and 1:23. She was prompted for most of the mile by Shesjustadelight N (Ron Cushing) who pulled from third at the quarter and then was parked out and relentlessly pursuing the leader for the rest of the mile.

Western Stepp had a one length advantage on Shesjustadelight N from the three-quarters to the top of the stretch. But as the race charged towards the wire, Shesjustadelight N continued to grind away at the deficit and was making up ground all the way to the wire. However Western Stepp had enough left and held off that challenge along with a late closing Seventimesavirgin (Mitchell Cushing) to win by a neck in 1:51.4.

It was the seventh win of the year for Western Stepp ($9.80) who has now earned $66,305 for owner Diane Dunn and trainer James Dunn.

Ron Cushing just missed in the main event on Tuesday but he did capture the $12,000 distaff non-winners of six lifetime co-feature. Cushing drove Gimme Some Lovin ($5.40) who took the lead at the quarter and maintained it all the way to the wire before just getting nosed out by Stonebridge Honey (Nick Graffam). But upon further review, Stonebridge Honey was disqualified and placed second for a pylon violation, thus advancing Gimme Some Lovin to the win spot.

Gimme Some Lovin registered her fourth win of the year for owner Anthony Romanelli and trainer Heidi Gibbs.

Drew Campbell and Jimmy Whittemore both had driving doubles on Tuesday leading all other drivers for wins. Currently Campbell still has a commanding lead in the dash win derby for the meet with 112 wins, sitting ahead of Greg Merton with 90, Shawn Gray with 84 and Mitchell Cushing with...

Yonkers Peek At Program- Wednesday, September 5th

Some insights into tonight’s racing program for our IdaBet players:

1ST RACE – (1) CHEYENNE REIJANE could not hack tougher claimers, so back where he belongs. Wins draw, opposes some worthy comp., can handle these.

2ND RACE – (2) WARTECH has been a lot of places, but never here. Proven small-track speedster might be able to work out useful trip behind leaving polester.

3RD RACE – (2) ACE OF CLUBS returns to level he drilled early last month with antsy pocket. As with opener endorsee, there are some foes who can compete.

4TH RACE – (5) KEEGAN HO returns off more than four months R&R, into field where inside four all had last tries at different venues. Does that even matter?

6TH RACE – (4) MEDUSA earned her return visit to adult table with pair of solid efforts against lesser. Eight-holer is dynamite, but perhaps impost does her in.

8TH RACE – (4) WINNERESS is back after wiring at Pocono. Last pair here were second-tier ‘French’ and eight-hole, so finally gets realistic shot at this level.

9TH RACE – (1) FEEL THE NEED A wins draw and offers more than ample speed to take advantage. Have to surmise road to winner’s circle goes through him.

11TH RACE – (4) MARCH AWARENESS made a rare boo-boo in last after winning previous two versus inferior foes. Sees dressed-up gang here, so we gaze.

——

$2 +/- (thru Sun., Sept. 2) – 241 wins ($1,959.80)
from 1,034 ($2,068) selex (-$108.20, admittedly not always lucid)

highest-priced winner – HIGHVIEW CONALL N ($43.60)
lowest-priced winner – CHASIN’ DREAMS ($2.30)
