Royal Max – Pompano

Pompano Beach, FL.February 9, 2016.Royal Max, driven by George Napolitano, Jr., justified the 4 to 5 tote-board confidence of the betting crowd by scoring a handy 1:54.1 victory in Pompano Park’s $15,000 Open Handicap Trot on Tuesday night.

The lightly raced five year-old gelded son of RC Royalty, trained by Chris Oakes for owner Albert Crawford, brushed up strongly from his seven post to take command prior to the hot :26.4 opener then proceeded to post fractions of :56.1 and 1:24.2 in route to a victory measuring 2 ¾ lengths over the late surging Winding Hill, handled by John MacDonald.

She’s All In, prominent in the garden spot all the way, wound up third for Rick Plano while Sailer Eddie finished fourth, nine lengths away from the winner. My Revenuer, assigned the outside post off of two straight wins in the company, rallied to pick up the nickel.

Race 2: 2- Mystical Bay – Was a winner two starts back and could strike again tonight. 3- Toys Legacy – Made the ticket in both of his most recent races and could be right there again tonight. 9- Britannia Seelster – Could do well from the second tier. 5- HJ’s A Real Lulu – Could add some value to the exotics.

Race 4: 1- Do It Doc’s Way – Draws the inside advantage and that advantage could be key to being successful tonight. 5- Hoorei For Flash – Should be fresh off a layoff and could do well at first asking. 4- Vaniscape – One of several in here that could make the ticket. 3- Redbud – Has as good of a shot as any to complete the Superfecta.

Race 5: 3- Verdict – Almost lasted in his most recent effort; could see things through tonight. 2- Midway Buss – Made the ticket in all four of his most recent races and could be right there again tonight. 8- Student Nurse – Could do well in here despite starting from the far outside. 5- Croesus – Could add value to the...

Pompano Berry Pickin’s for Wednesday, Feb 10th

RACE ONE EARLY DOUBLE- 2-4, 6-4 PICK-5 – 2 w 4 w 2,3 w 2,4,5 w 1,3,4,5,6

2-DE VALERIA…giving a hint or two in recent races. Last 2 showed good pace on backside (:28.3 in each). Drew a bit better this time, too. 6-SMOKIN N GRININ…key might be start here. Could be “smoking” early & “grinin” late as 32 of her 34 lifetime wins on engine early. 1-DELLA BEA…been very sharp lately. In new hands for this, drew rail & stays in same class as last week when she finished good second.

RACE TWO

4-IM AN ART MAJOR…liked backside pace in last (:27.2)—just in a bit too tough. Dips back to NW2 & can turn on the afterburners late. 1-SING BIRD SING…went grinding up forst over in strong effort last start. Should be cozily close the entire route with decent gate speed. 3-POKERFACE…always performs well in this class but seems to lack the “killer instinct” to go get ‘em in the lane. Still, on the ticket here.

RACE THREE

2-SEALARK HANOVER…been showing very powerful brushing power in recent, especially last when used :27.2 blitz to forge into lead. 3-MISS DOLLAR MAM…steps up a notch on the ladder after strong showing against “6’s.” Last...
